Table of contents

Like many of its predecessors, Final Fantasy 16 is far from a short game, with a main story run taking most players well over thirty hours. In fact, most completionist runs will probably clock in at around double that amount, such is the ridiculous amount of side content that the developers managed to cram into the game.

With this in mind, it would be fair to assume that Final Fantasy 16 has a lot of post-game content, but this isn't actually the case. Of course, that's not to say that there aren't still things to do once the credits have finished rolling, but those expecting a bunch of super bosses to suddenly show up will likely find themselves disappointed.

Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 does not include any post-game content, at least not in the traditional sense. However, there is a New Game Plus mode, which allows players to replay the game on Final Fantasy mode. This serves as a more challenging difficulty setting of sorts, increasing the level cap to 100, buffing enemies and bosses, and introducing new upgrades for many of the existing weapons and gear pieces. Final Fantasy mode also adds Ultima Weapon, which is the most powerful weapon in Final Fantasy 16.

Things to Do Before Finishing Final Fantasy 16

With all this in mind, rather than things to do after completing Final Fantasy 16, players should instead be looking for a list of things to do before the final showdown with Ultima. Granted, players will be able to reload their completed save file after beating the final boss and play on from just before the point of no return, but if they're planning to complete everything anyway, it arguably makes much more sense to do it before the fight with Ultima. As such, players can find a list of things to do before completing Final Fantasy 16 down below.

Those planning to complete the game again on Final Fantasy mode can probably skip some of the aforementioned tasks, particularly if they plan on getting Ultima Weapon during their second run. This is because they'll need to complete a significant portion of the side quests and hunts in order to be able to craft the weapon, so may wish to save these for New Game Plus mode.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
