Like many of the other side quests in Final Fantasy 16, "What a Bird Wants" is relatively straightforward, with players simply needing to deliver a wooden crate in order to earn their reward. Better still, they won't even need to make any detours, as both the quest giver and the place where they need to turn the quest in are on the way to a main story quest destination.

With this in mind, players should definitely take a moment to complete "What a Bird Wants", if not for completion's sake, but for the useful rewards that they'll get for doing so. Even if they skip it the first time around, players can return later on, using the nearby Obelisk to fast travel to Martha's Rest and complete their objective even more speedily.

Players will first be able to trigger the "What a Bird Wants" Final Fantasy 16 side quest during the "Homecoming" main story mission while traveling toward Martha's Rest. The quest giver is a traveling trader named Rowan, who can be found on the main path shortly after a stone bridge. He's pretty easy to spot on account of the nearby carriage that's being ransacked by four ravenous Chocobos. Because of the brazen birds, Rowan is unable to deliver a package to Martha's Rest and so will ask Clive to do it for him.

Given that Final Fantasy 16 players are heading for Martha's Rest anyway, it makes sense to accept the side quest, particularly as Rowan agrees to let Clive keep the delivery fee for helping him out. Assuming they do agree to deliver the package, they'll simply need to continue following the path toward Martha's rest and then stop off at the stables on their left. There, they'll find Gerard the Stable Master, and should speak with him to hand over the Sealed Crate.

After flapping his gums a little, Gerard will thank Clive for his service and hand over a few materials as a reward. In addition to 19 XP, players will receive ten Sharp Fangs and five Bloody Hides, both of which can be used for crafting and upgrading gear. Among other things, these are required for crafting the Wolfskin Sash +1, making this a great side quest for those looking to shore up Clive's defenses a little once they get back to Cid's hideaway. Alternatively, players can save the Bloody Hides for later, as they'll need several hundred of them to craft the Circle of Heaven, which is the best upgradable Belt for Clive.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
