Getting Started

Main Story
The main story of Final Fantasy 16 is set in the world of Valisthea and centers around Clive Rosfield: the firstborn son of Rosaria's ruling family. After tragedy strikes his family, Clive sets out on a quest for vengeance and players are brought along for the ride. Echoes of the Fallen
Given his earlier comments regarding story DLC, it came as a bit of a surprise when producer Naoki Yoshida announced that he and his team were working on two new expansions for Final Fantasy 16. The first of these is called Echoes of the Fallen, which was released shortly after its unveiling at the 2023 Game Awards ceremony. The expansion sees Clive and his companions venture into an old Fallen tower, answering some of the questions that players had after completing the base version of the game while also raising a few new ones.

The Rising Tide
The Rising Tide is the second DLC expansion for Final Fantasy 16 and tells the story of Leviathan the Lost. Released in April of 2024, it not only provides players with a brand-new storyline, but also a bunch of side content and a robust and challenging new game mode known as Kairos Gate. That's just the tip of the iceberg really though, with a plethora of new abilities and equipment helping to ensure that the game goes out with a loud and triumphant bang. Side Quests
