"White-Winged Wonder" is an important side quest in Final Fantasy 16. This is because completing it allows players to unlock the Chocobo mount, which they can then use to get around the world of Valisthea much faster than they ever could on foot. Unfortunately, however, the side quest doesn't become available right away, meaning that players will need to wait a little while before they can get started on it.

The good news is that the quest itself is relatively simple and can be completed in around ten to fifteen minutes. It does involve a fight with a bunch of angry poachers, but players shouldn't have too much trouble taking care of them, particularly if they've been upgrading Clive's weapons and gear regularly as they make their way through the main story.

How to Complete The White-Winged Wonder in Final Fantasy 16

"The White-Winged Wonder" first becomes available during the "The Gathering Storm" main story mission after players have completed the "Release" sub-mission and reported back to Martha at the Golden Stables in Martha's Rest. Immediately after leaving the tavern, they should see a green quest marker over toward the bridge on their left and can speak with Rowan, the traveling trader, to get the ball rolling. Observant players may notice that the quest marker for "The White-Winged Wonder" has a plus symbol in the middle rather than an exclamation mark, indicating that it is one of Final Fantasy 16's most important side quests.

Once they've finished speaking with Rowan (who they might recognize from the "What a Bird Wants" side quest), players should head across the bridge and follow the quest marker until they come to a white feather. A little further along, they'll find a couple of dead poachers before eventually catching up with Whiteheart. She and her flock are in a spot of bother, prompting Clive to step in and help out. Players should refrain from using Clive's best Eikonic Abilities here though, as a powerful Huntsman enemy will appear after the first wave of enemies has been defeated, so it's best to save long cooldown attacks like Rising Flames for him.

After defeating all of the poachers, Clive will realize that the white Chocobo is none other than Ambrosia, who still bears the scars from having saved him thirteen years ago at Phoenix Gate. Rowan will turn up and provide the three birds with saddles, blinders, and bridles, and players will receive Ambrosia's Tack, 60 Sharp Fangs, 287 XP, and 20 Renown as a reward. From here on out, they'll be able to call for Ambrosia in any of the open-world style areas of Final Fantasy 16 simply by holding down the R3 button.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
