Final Fantasy 16 is chock-full of unique and engaging side quests, but not all of them are available to pursue whenever players like. The Fruits of Her Labors is no exception; though it becomes available during The Gathering Storm, players will first need to complete the "Release" objective before it can be started. This side quest gives Clive a break from combat and instead tasks him with delivering some fruit to his comrades.

To begin Final Fantasy 16's The Fruits of Her Labors side quest, Clive must travel to The Backyard area of The Hideaway and interact with Cormac, a botanist who can be found standing next to a giant barrel. Cormac will explain to Clive that he wishes to thank the Cursebreakers for their hard work by giving them some fresh fruit; when players accept the quest, Clive will set off to deliver the fruit himself.

Once the conversation between Clive and Cormac has ended, 2 Baskets of Martelle Apples will be added to Clive's inventory. These baskets can then be taken to the Cursebreakers in The Hideaway by traveling to The Mess.

Players who wish to get to The Mess immediately after beginning The Fruits of Her Labor can do so by backtracking to The Rear Stacks, continuing east, and then turning south into The Black Hammer. Continuing through the Main Deck and heading south to the Boarding Deck, Clive can proceed west and climb the stairs to find Fabien, a Cursebreaker.

Upon interacting with Fabien, Clive will offer both him and his companion a Basket of Martelle Apples. The two Cursebreakers will then take a moment to remember Martelle and what she did for The Hideaway before she passed away. When the conversation ends, Clive will be left with 1 Basket of Martelle Apples to deliver to another Cursebreaker.

To deliver the second and final Basket of Martelle Apples, Clive should proceed south to the other side of The Mess and speak to Corentin, a Cursebreaker who can be seen leaning back against a wooden table. Interacting with him, players must choose to hand over the remaining apple basket if they wish to hear what he has to say.

Upon seeing the apples, Corentin will tell Clive a short story about Cid and his fondness for the fruit. Otto will join the conversation for a brief moment; when he leaves, Corentin will thank Clive and ask him to send his regards to Cormac.

The Mess is also home to three NPCs that can be interacted with to access the Hunt Board, the Partron's Whisper, and the Alliant Reports; the Hunt Board can be used to track down unique enemies, the Patron's Whisper serves as a source for items and materials, and the Alliant Reports provides a list of available quests.
