Final Fantasy 16 is certainly a JRPG that puts much thought into its story, steering the series in a more mature direction than any of its predecessors. Such heightened drama is often matched by its intense combat, which puts protagonist Clive Rosfield in all sorts of danger. However, it is not just trying to save the day that sees Clive be engaged in dangerous fights.

Optional content is also part of the package in Final Fantasy 16, where players can further test their mastery over swordplay and magical abilities against more dangerous opponents. The Notorious Mark bounty hunts fall under this category, and for players hoping to find and eliminate the Angel of Death, here's what needs to be done for Aruna.

Where to Find Aruna the Angel of Death in Final Fantasy 16

Final Fantasy 16 Where to Find Notorious Mark Aruna (The Angel of Death)

Unlocked after the main quest of The Gathering Storm, players can take on this C-rank hunt back at the hideaway. The actual location of Aruna is in Claireview, Sanbreque, and anyone preparing to fight will have to contend with a dangerous harpy lying in wait once they reach the indicated location above.

How to Beat Aruna in Final Fantasy 16

This should be a familiar fight now, considering that Clive has faced many other harpies prior to this showdown with Aruna, The Angel of Death, in Final Fantasy 16. However, due to its status as a Notorious Mark, it definitely hits harder than most harpies. There are both ranged and melee attacks to look out for:

  • Her melee attacks include wing swipes and charging attacks, but the good news is that they are all telegraphed quite clearly. Dodging or parrying will allow Clive to get in some damage of his own.
  • Aruna uses a ranged wind projectile when Clive is further away, and this can be exploited using Heatwave to deal significant damage back at the boss.

As usual, using Eikonic Abilities as much as possible will get Aruna Staggered quickly, and when things get too hectic, it is always okay to pull back and use Charged Magic instead. Watch out for the speed of Aruna, which is its main advantage when it comes to dealing damage to Clive and the rest of the group.

For beating The Angel of Death, Aruna, in Final Fantasy 16, players will receive 10 Renown, 40 Ability Points, 6200 Gil, and 402 XP. A Clouded Eye will also drop.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
