An enemy like Severian is not an uncommon sight by now, with players having fought the likes of its less-abled brethren. With both melee and magical attacks at its disposal, it is still vital this enemy is not underestimated.

  • Aside from its melee swipes with the energy sword, Severian is fond of using a lunge attack to close the distance with Clive. Once it starts bringing its sword back, get ready to dodge out of the way of the lunge.
  • Further away, it uses magical attacks that can be a handful. Prepare to dodge or use Phoenix's Heatwave to make the enemy pay for even trying.
  • Severian can also deploy an energy dome around it for an AoE explosion, which is then followed by several smaller domes around the area that also explodes. Dodge out of the first dome before getting near the enemy to avoid the subsequent attack. This is also a great chance to hurt Severian while it is occupied.

  • Eventually, this foe will start to use Eradicate, which is a spinning sword attack that also comes with a barrage of projectiles. The energy balls can overwhelm you, so back away first before preparing for a lunge to follow after the spin ends.

Always wait for Severian to complete its attacks before mounting an offensive; this way, it will keep Clive out of harm's reach for as much as possible. Remember to target its Will and get it Staggered so that Eikonic Abilities have their time to shine.

Bringing down Severian will see players gain 800 XP, 70 Ability Points, 8500 Gil, 20 Renown, as well as one Electrum that can be used at the Blacksmith for crafting.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
