The latest JRPG on the block, Final Fantasy 16, boasts not just a mature and intriguing story, but also a combat system that allows players to pull of all sorts of spectacular moves. This is aided by the presence of Eikons, beings of immense powers, who grant protagonist Clive Rosfield different Eikonic Abilities to help him become a better fighter overall.

As Clive gains more power and access to more Eikons, there will be a plethora of moves to choose from. It is thus important for players to figure out just what these abilities are good for, and many of the trophies in the game will do just that. For those hoping to master Garuda and its wind-based moves, this is how to get the Never Coming Down trophy in Final Fantasy 16.

How to Get the Never Coming Down Trophy in Final Fantasy 16

First of all, players will have to already best both Benedikta and Garuda during the main narrative of Final Fantasy 16. This will allow Clive to access the Eikon's abilities, and with enough Ability Points, unlock the necessary abilities to go for the trophy, which requires using Gouge, Wicked Wheel, and Rook's Gambit in midair before landing.

Both Gouge and Wicked Wheel will already be available, and purchasing Rook's Gambit will require 120 Ability Points. The recommendation before trying out for the trophy is to:

  • Buy Rook's Gambit with 120 Ability Points

  • Upgrade and master Wicked Wheel for a combined 1525 Ability Points. Mastery allows the ability to be mapped to another Eikon, which is necessary to pull off all three moves in a single period. Players can choose to master any of the other two abilities as well.
  • Before battle, equip the Garuda Eikon with the two abilities that are not mastered. Next, equip the mastered ability, in this case, Wicked Wheel, to another Eikon, such as the Phoenix.
  • Locate a suitable enemy, preferably one that is large enough with a big hitbox, such as the Bighorn found in Rosaria. The added size means the moves will likely connect than miss.

  • Now, start by jumping off the enemy using X, execute Wicked Wheel while using Phoenix, and then switch to Garuda. Input the commands for Rook's Gambit, followed by Gouge.

If all three moves are executed correctly and hit the enemy before Clive lands on the ground, the Never Coming Down trophy will be awarded. Just remember that the attacks have to register at least a hit for the sequence to count.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
