Returning to The Hideaway as part of Final Fantasy 16's Righting Wrongs main quest, Clive will be given a chance to pursue two new side quests by speaking to each quest's respective quest-giver. So long as the "Speak to Charon" objective is visible on the screen, players are free to begin and complete each of these side quests before continuing with the main story.

To start Final Fantasy 16's Needs of the Many side quest, players must find and interact with Alban, Postmaster, a silver-haired man who happens to be standing at The Hideaway's entrance. Alban will explain to Clive that his friend, Randal, has gone missing; since Alban lacks the strength to search for him himself, he will ask Clive to look in his stead.

How To Find Randal

Upon accepting the quest, Clive should fast-travel to Lostwing, proceed east, and then northeast into The Hanged Man. At the end of the long hallway, he will find a bar, behind which a man named Quinten is standing. Interacting with Quinten, he will tell Clive to head south toward Laubert's Pass to continue his search.

Before Clive can reach Laubert's Pass, he must first travel through Cutter's Gate, which can be reached by backtracking to The Hanged Man's entrance hall, proceeding through the southmost exit, and climbing the stone stairs leading away from Lostwing. Turning right and following the path forward, Clive will reach Cutter's Gate, which he can pass through and continue forward to eventually reach Laubert's Pass.

Clive faces Quinten's Comrade in Final Fantasy 16

Once players reach the green circle depicted on the map, they will see Quinten's Comrade kneeling in the center of the road. Interacting with him, he will tell Clive that he and Randal were attacked by a group of enemies before Randal disappeared. To find where Randal went after the attack, Clive should continue following the path leading south.

At the end of the path, Clive will be faced with a Level 21 Hill Gigas and three Hill Goblins. Defeating the Hill Goblins is pretty easy, but the Hill Gigas can be a real challenge if players haven't optimized Clive's gear in a while.

How To Beat The Hill Gigas

Clive fights a Hill Gigas in Final Fantasy 16

One of the Hill Gigas' most dangerous attacks sees it raising its club above its head and smashing it into the ground, causing a shockwave; to avoid getting hit by this move, Clive should dodge just as the creature begins lowering its club toward him.

The Hill Gigas will also swing its club at Clive from time to time; to prevent this attack from hitting, Clive should dodge back just as the Hill Gigas begins to swing its club to the right.

Whenever the Hill Gigas unleashes its Big Swing attack, Clive should retreat to a safe distance, as this attack can go on for some time. If players happen to be stuck in a corner when the attack begins, however, they will need to dodge the Hill Gigas' swings several times until the attack ends.

The Hill Gigas will also run at Clive if he is standing too far away and will swing its club at him. This move is pretty easy to predict, but dodging it can be quite hard, as the attack comes quite quickly. The best way to avoid this attack is for Clive to dodge the moment the Hill Gigas' running animation ends.

So long as players take care to avoid the Hill Gigas' attacks, the battle can be won with relative ease, and Clive will receive 1 Bone Necklace, 2 Valley Madders, and 4 Wyrrites as a reward for defeating the beast.

Once the battle is over, Clive can walk behind the cart to the east to find Randal's body. After examining him, he can return to Quinten in The Hanged Man to complete the quest.

Quinten will express sadness over losing such a brave ally before giving Clive 30 Wyrrite, 30 Sharp Fangs, and 1 Meteorite as rewards for his services. These materials can then be used to craft and upgrade Clive's gear.
