Table of contents

The way Final Fantasy 16 is structured often sees players go through several pivotal story moments before letting them take a break to see what else is out there. This is when players are free to enjoy the substantial side content that can be found throughout Valisthea, and more often than not, they lead to good rewards that can help Clive and his crew get better at what they do.

Sometimes, side quests can come in bunches, and while most of them are numbered to denote a link between them, there is one in particular that is only available if players are willing to put in the time and effort to help the common folk of this world. For those that manage to complete the side quests involving Dorys, there will come a time to hunt down the Kuza Beast as part of the Nobody's Tool side quest in Final Fantasy 16.

Where to Find Kuzu Beast in Final Fantasy 16

By completing The Weight of Command and Self-Determination side quests, players will eventually be able to talk to Dorys again at the hideaway during the Back to Their Origin main quest to reach this hunt instead of using the Hunt Board. After speaking to her, players will be tasked to escort her to Balmung Dark in Waloed.

Head up the stairs from the Ravenwit Walls Obelisk and then head north, where players can speak to Dorys. She will require help in rescuing some Bearers. Locate all three areas with enemies, defeat them, and read the letters found at these spots. After speaking to Dorys and getting the key, unlock the locked gate near the prison's entrance and locate the crying girl. Dorys will catch up, and it is now time to find the Kuza Beast via the hole near the entrance.

How to Beat Kuza Beast in Final Fantasy 16

The Kuza Beast is similar to the Behemoths that Clive has faced before, but of course, as a Notorious Mark, this means it is much more dangerous, so caution is advised. Take note of the following patterns of attacks:

  • At the start, the Kuza Beast will want to get close to use its melee attacks and rushes. These moves have clear telegraphs, but do take note of the dodging window to avoid any painful damage.
  • If Clive is at a distance, the Kuza Beast is also fond of using its magic, with Comet being an attack that needs to be avoided at all costs. Once the initial impact is avoided, remember to jump to steer clear of the shockwave generated by the falling fireballs.

  • Once its health has been reduced beyond half, the Kuza Beast will begin to summon three consecutive Comets. The same rules apply, so use the likes of Deadly Embrace or Titanic Block to avoid the hurt.

While its attacks may seem limited, they hit too hard to make any mistakes. Keep Clive's health in the green, and as much as possible, keep close and use Eikonic Abilities to stun the beast and unleash the hurt. Following the fight, the crew will head back to the hideaway to conclude the side quest.

Besting the Kuza Beast will earn players 5500 XP, 90 Ability Points, 15000 Gil, and 35 Renown. Furthermore, there will be two pieces of Meteorite and one Behemoth Shackle for use in crafting.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
