Final Fantasy 16, like most modern RPGs, features a full crafting and upgrade system that uses a wide range of materials to create and improve weapons and gear. The game's protagonist, Clive Rosfield, will spend much of the game collecting these materials, constantly working to increase his power and bolster his defenses. Final Fantasy 16 uses a scaling system that is always increasing the enemy's strength to match Clive's level. Because of this, Clive will always be looking for materials to improve his gear.

Wyrrite is one of the most common forms of crafting material found in Valisthea. As such, it plays an important role in crafting many of FInal Fantasy 16's best weapons. From the moment he begins his journey, Clive can - and should - begin collecting this important material. This guide will explain where he can find it, as well as what to do with it when he gets it.

How to Get Wyrrite in Final Fantasy 16

FF16-Wyrrite-Item-Description-Full

While Wyritte is one of the more common materials in Final Fantasy 16, that does not mean it is found out in the open, waiting for Clive to scoop it up at any time. Early in the game, Clive will have two main methods of acquiring the crafting material:

  • Item Drops/Treasure Coffers
  • Battle Rewards/Spoils after important battles

Clive will eventually be able to purchase Wyrrite at Charon's Toll, the shop first encountered at Cid's Hideaway. Clive will get notices any time a new item is available to purchase from Charon, so keep an eye out for the update that announces the sale of Wyrrite. The cost for each individual piece will be 40 Gil.

Item Drops/Treasure Coffers:

As Clive makes his way through the various levels of Valisthea, he'll likely notice several white, sparkling items, sometimes tucked away, sometimes out in the open. Approaching these items will cause them to be automatically absorbed. Potions are the most common items found in this way early in the game, but there will be a small amount of Wyirrte that can be acquired as well.

Treasure Coffers are small chests that Clive will come across while exploring. Make sure to search every area thoroughly, as they can be well hidden. When found, simply approach and use X to interact.

Battle Rewards/Spoils:

During the early parts of Final Fantasy 16, Battle Rewards will be the most reliable way to get Wyrrite. Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed method to ensure Clive receives the materials he desires every time, but given that Wyrrite is in the most common category of material, he is sure to receive it the more he fights.

While many battles have pre-determined item drops, Clive can be awarded additional items based on his combat performance . When facing boss-type enemies, which are distinguishable by their larger health bars and unique names, make sure to use all abilities, combos, parries, dodges, etc. Clive will get a visual indicator on the right of the screen if he has correctly performed one of these special actions.

After reaching Caer Norvent, Clive will begin to receive Wyrrite through basic item drops after normal combat encounters. From this point on, it will be far easier to stockpile this essential crafting material.

Where to Use Wyrrite In Final Fantasy 16

FF16-Blackthorne-Blacksmith-2

Clive will have access to the blacksmith, Blackthorne, once he unlocks Cid's Hideaway. Here, he'll be able to craft new weapons and gear. Though his initial capabilities are somewhat slim, they will grow considerably over the course of Clive's journey.

Blackthorne has the ability to both craft and reinforce weapons & armor. Wyrrite will be an essential ingredient in many of Final Fantasy 16's crafting recipes, particularly the basic crafting and reinforcement of early-game weapons.

FF16-Charons-Toll-Black-Hammer-Cids-Hidaway-Map

Blackthorne's forge, The Black Hammer, is located on the western edge of Cid's Hideaway, just past Charon's Toll. There will be more hideaways that Clive can access later in the game, but this location is where Clive will first use his Wyrrite.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now on PlayStation 5.
