There are around 100 accessories in Final Fantasy 16, each one with its own unique effect. Some are incredibly situational and one or two of them are just downright bad, but the best FF16 accessories prove to be useful in almost any conceivable circumstance. As a result, players are advised to seek them out as early as they possibly can.

Unfortunately, Clive can only equip three different accessories at any given time, which can make choosing the best accessories in Final Fantasy 16 a tricky task at times. Thankfully, though, players will be able to swap things around whenever they like, allowing them to adapt accordingly whenever the game throws them a curveball.

Depending on their Eikon setup and which abilities they prefer using in battle, players may also want to consider some of Final Fantasy 16 's Eikon-specific accessories. These typically increase damage or reduce cooldown times for their respective Eikonic Abilities and can thus make for a solid addition to any FF16 loadout.

Channeler's Whispers

Channeler's Whispers

Automatically charges magic spells and maintains the charge until cast.

Final Fantasy 16 places a huge emphasis on hack-and-slash combat, making it easy to forget that Clive can also cast basic spells by pressing the Triangle button. In their basic form, these spells are fairly useless, which is why most players tend to focus on swordplay and Eikonic Abilities instead. However, charged magic spells can actually dish out a decent amount of damage, which makes the Channeler's Whispers accessory surprisingly useful. It automatically charges up Clive's next spell, allowing players to work magic into their combos fluidly without having to hold down the button in advance.

How to Get the Channeler's Whispers in Final Fantasy 16

The Channeler's Whispers accessory can be purchased from Charon's Toll for the somewhat modest price of 20,000 Gil. Most of the best accessories in Final Fantasy 16 don't become available until the final act of the story, but that's not the case here. Players will be able to buy the Channeler's Whispers from the beginning of the "Cid the Outlaw" main story mission, which comes relatively early on.

Ring of Timely Evasion

Ring of Timely Evasion

When equipped, Clive will automatically evade attacks, as long as the attack can be evaded.

Final Fantasy 16 takes an interesting approach to accessibility, providing players with a series of special gear known as Timely Accessories rather than a bunch of dials and sliders. Most of these accessories grow less useful as the game goes on, with the Ring of Timely Strikes actually starting to hinder players as their repertoire of attacks begins to grow. However, The Ring of Timely Evasion remains useful from start to finish and allows players to focus on dishing out damage rather than constantly trying to avoid it.

How to Get the Ring of Timely Evasion in Final Fantasy 16

All of the Timely Accessories in Final Fantasy 16 are available right from the get-go, meaning that players won't actually need to do anything to get their hands on the Ring of Timely Evasion.

Talisman of Priming

Talisman of Priming

Increases lionheart tonic duration by 30 seconds.

As in previous Final Fantasy games, limit breaks play an important role in Final Fantasy 16. Players will primarily fill their limit break gauge by inflicting or taking damage, but they can also do so by using Lionheart Tonics. By default, these will gradually fill up the gauge for 30 seconds, but the Talisman of Priming doubles this to 60. Maxing out Clive's potion potency can add another six seconds to this time.

How to Get the Talisman of Priming in Final Fantasy 16

Players will get the Talisman of Priming from the Patron's Whisper after reaching a Renown level of 1,360. Assuming they've been tackling side quests and Notorious Mark hunts as and when they become available, the earliest players can get this is at the beginning of the "A Song of Hope" main story mission.

Adamantite Gauntlets

Adamantite Gauntlets

Increases maximum HP by 500.

Save for the signature attacks of certain Eikons, there aren't really any enemies that can one-shot Clive in Final Fantasy 16, at least not in a regular playthrough, anyway. Managing Clive's health is therefore very important, so being able to increase his max HP by 500 with the Adamantite Gauntlets is absolutely huge. This equates to a rise of more than 15% at level 50, which is far more than players can boost any of Clive's other stats using accessories alone.

How to Get the Adamantite Gauntlets in Final Fantasy 16

Players can find the Adamantite Gauntlets in a floating Fallen treasure chest in the Edge of Infinity area of Waloed. To find the chest, they should fast travel to the Edge of Infinity Obelisk and then head north, taking the first path on the left until they hit a dead end. The earliest that players can get the Adamantite Gauntlets is during the "Footfalls in Ash" main story quest.

Genji Gloves

Genji Gloves

Increases damage dealt to enemies by 5%.

A lot of the best accessories in Final Fantasy 16 force players to focus on one particular type of damage, but that's not the case with the Genji Gloves. Rather than only buffing combo damage or magic, the Genji Gloves increase all damage dealt to enemies by 5%. This may not seem like much on paper, but it quickly starts to add up, particularly when using some of Clive's most powerful attacks.

How to Get the Genji Gloves in Final Fantasy 16

Players will get the Genji Gloves from the Patron's Whisper after reaching a Renown level of 2,365. Unfortunately, this does mean that the earliest they'll be able to get their hands on them will be at the beginning of the "Back to Their Origin" main story mission, but they're arguably well worth the wait.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
