Final Fantasy 16 follows the adventures of Clive, the First Shield of Rosaria. The game is set during the time when the Blight was causing problems for different nations. Due to their inability to do anything about the problem, many kingdoms turned on one another, leading to the deaths of countless people.

When players start a new game, it will take a while for them to understand the story. However, they will get a taste of the fast-paced combat very early on in the game. Final Fantasy 16 is visually stunning, and each region looks more remarkable than the other. It is not always easy to explore areas on foot, but thankfully, Final Fantasy 16 has fast travel.

How to Fast Travel

Players won't have access to fast travel until they complete a few tasks. They will have to complete the training session with the Lord Commander, after which the Archduke will ask Clive to meet him. While the destination is not that far away, players can take their time exploring the place and picking up a few items.

Once that is done, players can go see Clive's father, who asks him to look into a possible goblin infestation. He tells him to regroup with the main force after taking care of the problem. Following the conversation, players will need to guide Clive to his room. Before leaving for the mission, there are a few cutscenes that include Clive, Jill, the Archduke, and his wife.

As the sun dawns, Clive gets ready to go on the mission along with his two companions. Subsequently, this brings up the map, which is highlighted with Clive's next destination.

At the beginning of the game, there are only a handful of places that Clive can travel to, but more and more options will open up as the story moves forward. When it comes to exploring an area, players can either choose to walk on foot or get a Chocobo, as confirmed by Hiroshi Takai, the director of the game. Each region is filled with various monsters and items, so players will have to be thorough in their exploration.

Final Fantasy 16 will release on June 22, 2023, for PlayStation 5.
