Final Fantasy 16 is an epic action RPG that has been developed by Square Enix. The demo for the game received a lot of positive acclaim, so expectations are very high for the full release. Final Fantasy 16 has made many changes to its combat style, and most importantly, the turn-based system has been removed.

Instead, players will fight enemies in real-time, which will enable them to try out various attack combinations. Players can choose whether to use melee, magic, or Eikonic abilities to take down their enemies. While attacking is definitely an important aspect of Final Fantasy 16, dodging enemies' moves is just as necessary.

How to Dodge in FF16

Dodging is an art, and it allows players to avoid enemy attacks that could possibly kill Clive. Players can dodge attacks in Final Fantasy 16 by pressing the R1 button. Depending on the timing of the players, Clive's evasion will either result in a regular or precision dodge.

A regular dodge helps Clive avoid attacks, but it does not grant any special bonus. Precision dodge, on the other hand, slows down the target's movement speed and gives players the opportunity to launch a counterattack. Naturally, it is much more difficult to do a precision dodge, so it will take the players quite some time to master it. However, the extra damage is definitely worth the effort.

Players will have to keep an eye on the movement of the enemies. Once they grasp the pattern of the attacks, it will be much easier to perform a precision dodge.

After executing a precision dodge, a confirmation text will pop up on the right-hand side of the screen. Subsequently, players can select to either counterattack using the Square button or the Triangle button. The Square button leads to a melee attack called Precision Counter, while the Triangle button results in Precision Counter Shot.

One thing is certain: players have quite a few options to choose from, which is always a positive. In certain situations, mostly against enemies with high HP, players will have the opportunity to perform a cinematic evasion.

After dealing a certain amount of damage to an enemy, a small sequence begins, which will lead to a prompt asking the players to press the R1 button. Players will have to be quick to press the button, as it is only a small window. Upon the successful completion of a cinematic evasion, the enemy will be immediately staggered, and the damage dealt to it will increase with every strike, going as high as 150%.

Final Fantasy 16 releases on June 22, 2023, for PlayStation 5.
