Final Fantasy 16 is one of the more linear entries in the legendary Final Fantasy series, but it still offers players plenty of room to explore and take on additional tasks unrelated to its main story. These can be encountered throughout the game, and often have Clive meeting new people and discovering more about the world.

One Final Fantasy 16 Side Quest that can be undertaken during Clive's visit to Dalimil is called "Hot Water", and deals with an issue at the local baths. Clive will only have to travel a short way to resolve the aforementioned issue, but the quest reveals strange things are afoot in the world.

Hot Water

This quest begins when Clive speaks with the owner of the Baths in Dalimil, and can only be undertaken once he has secured the aid of Ruzena Dalimil, AKA Forgemaster L'ubor. This requires players to complete the main quest up to the point where L'ubor gives them a symbol of their approval and provides them with a way past the gate toward Drake's Fang.

Once L'ubor's aid is secured, players will want to track down Xaver, Bathhouse Owner, who can be found just down the road on the right, near the courtyard that precedes the newly opened gate. Xaver is furious about the current status of the Baths, saying that the water flowing into the baths from the springs has grown unbearably hot and rendered the baths unusable.

Xaver asks Clive for help checking on the springs to see what the problem is, and this shouldn't be much of a problem since they're on the far side of the gate L'ubor just secured Clive passage through. Head through the gates and follow the road to find a man warning about monsters at the Springs, and then head on past him into Doeznov Terraces. The problem quickly becomes obvious, as the series mainstay monsters known as "Bombs" are infesting the springs and likely causing the water temperature to soar.

Bombs aren't terribly difficult foes, especially if players make use of Heatwave or Titanic Block to guard against their fireballs and counterattack for massive damage, and assuming players have been upgrading their gear regularly. A particularly powerful bomb called "Old Faithful" will emerge after the first wave is slain, but its moveset isn't different from the Bath Bombs and so the same tactics will work just as well here. The biggest concern is a Bomb exploding before players can defeat it, which will deal a ton of damage. It is important to focus down each bomb quickly, so they don't have time to explode.

Once the Bombs have been eliminated, Clive only needs to head back to Xaver and report the good news to claim his reward. Xaver notes that, while he believes Clive, monsters made of fire are unheard of, making this a wholly new threat to the safety of his business. This rewards players with the "Breath of Fire (Ignition)" accessory, which reduces the cooldown time of the Ignition Eikonic Ability.
