When there's so much going on throughout the many hours that are packed into a JRPG like Final Fantasy 16, being able to take a breather and review things is an option that most players will appreciate. Knowing the intricate relationships of the various characters, the history of the lands at war, and the consequences of certain actions adds further context to a deep plot at the heart of the game, and that's always helpful.

Rather than rely on outside sources, Square Enix has taken note of this potential issue and turned it into a gameplay feature with Harpocrates and The Thousand Tomes. Serving as a comprehensive collection of everything there is to know about Valisthea and its people, Final Fantasy 16 players will do their part in collecting this info to build a repository of detailed information unlike any that has ever been seen in a Final Fantasy game.

Harpocrates & The Thousand Tomes in Final Fantasy 16

There is no better place to be than with Harpocrates and The Thousand Tomes if one is seeking information about Valisthean lore and history. The compendium covers everything from basic terms to important people of interest, geography, and history. As Clive progresses through the game, coming back to talk to Harpocrates in his study will add even more new information.

This is also where Active Time Lore entries can be found. With this in mind, for players that like to live in the moment and not get distracted by additional context, a trip to The Thousand Tomes might just clear up any doubts or questions they might have when it comes to the events of Final Fantasy 16.

The More You Know Trophy

The More You Know Trophy Final Fantasy 16

One of the many different trophies that can be obtained in Final Fantasy 16 is The More You Know. The requirement to add this shiny trophy to any collection is to help Harpocrates attain a knowledge level of 5, which is actually quite easy to get done.

The way Harpocrates can increase his knowledge level is via the sharing of Clive. All a player has to do is continue playing the game, pushing forward the events of the main plot line and becoming a regular visitor to the study of Harpocrates. After about 25+ hours or so, that should be enough to help push the knowledge level of this scholar past level 5, unlocking the trophy easily.

Unlike some of the more challenging trophies on the list, this will come with time. As they say, knowledge is power, and The Thousand Tomes is certainly crammed full of valuable info that will be useful to all.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
