Final Fantasy 16 makes a lot of big changes to the series' tried and tested formula, but perhaps one of the most notable is the lack of a traditional Cure spell. Now, instead of using magic, players will have to rely either on the somewhat unreliable restorative powers of Torgal, or, more often than not, the use of consumables like Potions and High Potions.

Unfortunately, there is a rather strict limit on how many of these items Clive can carry, particularly at the beginning of the game. However, by completing the "Weird Science" side quest, players will be able to increase their carry capacity and can do so again a little later on with the help of another side quest called "Even Weirder Science."

How to Complete Even Weirder Science in Final Fantasy 16

The "Even Weirder Science" side quest first becomes available at the beginning of the "Across the Narrow" main story mission, though only if players have already finished Final Fantasy 16's "Weird Science" quest. Assuming they have, they'll be able to start "Even Weirder Science" by speaking with Owain, the engineer, who can be found down in Mid's workshop at the Hideaway.

Owain will reveal that he needs three Spherical Echoes for a forge that he's been working on and tasks Clive with tracking them down. Thankfully, the small white orbs are pretty easy to find, with one waiting for Clive at the Fallen ruins in Lostplume, Advent, and Silent Slough respectively. Of course, players will need to fight off a bunch of Fallen Guardians and Bugs to get their hands on them, but as all of these enemies are below level 40, Clive shouldn't have too much trouble taking them down.

After retrieving the three Spherical Echoes, players should make their way back to Owain at the hideaway and hand over the Fallen tech. A short while later, he'll have put the finishing touches on his forge and will offer to adjust the clasp on Clive's satchel, bringing the quest to an end. For their troubles, players will receive a Goblin Coin, 4,800 XP, and 50 Renown, as well as the Expanded Potion Satchel Curiosity. The latter increases Clive's carry capacity to the max, allowing him to hold up to eight Potions, five High Potions, four Strength Tonics, and four Stoneskin Tonics.

If this is the player's first time completing "Even Weirder Science," they'll also unlock the "With Two Ds" Trophy at this time.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
