Where To Find Belphegor In Final Fantasy 16

The bounty hunt for Belphegor can begin once players have progressed to the main quest, The Gathering Storm. After speaking to Nektar at the hideaway, the location of this beast will be much clearer. Simply head to the Broken Hilt region of Rosaria, and find it on top of a hill near the end of the path on the east.

Compared to some of the earlier hunts, like Aruna, the Belphegor will pose a bigger threat to players still getting to grips with the combat system. Therefore, it is vital to take note of these attacks:

  • At melee range, Belphegor will use a combo of two quick swipes with its claws, followed by a spinning tail whip. Daring players can try parrying the second of the swipes, but the recommendation is to dodge all three attacks.
  • From range, the creature will either fire off three fireballs in quick succession, or rear back for a flaming breath attack. The former can be easily avoided by sidestepping or by using Heatwave as a counter, while the latter is an opportunity for players to get some free hits in once the attack has been dodged.

  • Once its health has been sufficiently reduced, Belphegor will start using wind magic to attack. Also, it adds diving attacks into the mix, so be wary of the speed of these attacks and counter when you can.

Always be sure to take advantage after the three-hit combo from Belphegor, as it will be vulnerable and stay in place for a short time. As with most hunts, Eikonic Abilities and Staggered mode are the best ways to hurt Belphegor, so don't be shy about going all out.

Defeating Belphegor will reward players with 700 XP, 60 Ability Points, 8000 Gil, and 20 Renown. There will also be two Dragon Talons that come in handy for crafting.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
