Like any good JRPG, Final Fantasy 16 is packed with things to keep the protagonist, Clive Rosfield, busy. Beyond just saving the world and looking good doing it, there are many folks out there that require the aid of a dashing hero like Clive. Such side quests can usually be found as the story progresses, and are often worthwhile endeavors to go on.

However, there will be times when players are more caught up in the main plot, pushing hard toward the next pivotal event, and not necessarily paying attention to the happenings outside of the immediate vicinity. Thankfully, to help players keep on top of all things big and small out in Valisthea, the hideaway is home to the Alliant Report function that collects all available side quests at any time in Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 16 Alliant Reports & Side Quests

Although players will arrive at Cid's hideaway early on in the game, it will still take some time before this function becomes accessible. Following Clive's journey back to Phoenix Gate, his return to the hideaway will prompt a message that Alliant Reports are now available.

From this point onward, players will simply need to head into the mess and look for Gaute, who is standing next to Otto just at the bar's counter. This will give Clive access to the various reports compiled by the Cursebreakers located around the world. Such information will inform players of the various side quests that are available throughout Valisthea.

What makes it even better is that there is no need for long treks to find the quest givers. Should a side quest happen to catch the eye, players can immediately fast travel to the Obelisk waypoint nearest to the origin of the quest, so that the action can unfold swiftly.

It is always recommended that players check out the Alliant Reports every time they return to the hideaway after a crucial story event. Since the game does not necessarily require Clive and the crew to revisit areas, knowing that there is something worthwhile to chase down in another region via Alliant Reports is the best way of covering all bases. Of course, having good rewards help as well, especially as side quests can lead to even more opportunities for XP, Gil, Ability Points, and even a valuable blueprint or upgrade material.

For players who are keener to mainline through the game before coming back to see other stuff, the Alliant Reports will be a great convenience to count on, so players should be sure to add it to the routine as soon as possible.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
