Corruption can appear in many forms, and in Final Fantasy 16, the Mothercrystals and the aetherflood caused by their presence leave no life untouched. Be it people, plants, or animals, none are safe from being turned Akashic, and this is why Clive and his allies will do whatever it takes to stop the corruption from overtaking Valisthea.

Of course, once the heroes have learned of this development, it is already too late for some places and the creatures that dwell within them. The only solution then is to put them down for the safety of everyone else, and the Notorious Mark known as Agni falls into this category in Final Fantasy 16, so get ready for a tough fight ahead.

Where To Find Agni In Final Fantasy 16

The once peaceful beast known as the Agni can be hunted down once the Brotherhood main quest is in progress. The Hunt Board will point players towards Waloed, with Agni found in the southern part of the Halfcombe region, just before reaching The Edge of Infinity.

Players will have fought two other creatures that are similar to Agni, but its attacks are too dangerous to take this battle lightly. Beyond its usual melee swipes and tail swing combos, be wary of the following:

  • Agni will use a move called Collider, which sends it rolling toward Clive for massive damage. In total, it will do this three times before finishing off the attack with a slam using its body. Time each dodge sideways precisely to avoid damage and get out of the way of the slam. This will then be the best moment to use Eikonic Abilities to hurt the motionless Agni.

  • A more powerful ranged attack Agni can use is Firewater, where it shoots out a stream of fire from its mouth in a short arc toward the front. This attack is easily avoided by moving to its side. Players can try attacking it a couple of times, but be wary as Agni will shift its position constantly, so be ready to dodge too.

Similar to some other large creatures, most of Agni's attacks can have a significant delay to bait players into messing up the timing of defense. Be patient, and keep going at the enemy to get its health down. Eventually, the threat of Agni will be quelled.

By eliminating Agni, players will walk away with 8000 XP, 100 Ability Points, 15500 Gil, and 35 Renown. Furthermore, the enemy will drop one Stone Tongue that will come in handy for crafting.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
