While being able to put up more of a fight against Barnabas this time, Clive was beaten once again in one of the previous main scenario quests of Final Fantasy 16. Clive managed to avoid being seriously injured this time around, and even gained some new powers as well. With Jill safe and sound, Clive turns his attention to the final Mothercrystal in all of Valisthea.
The problem is that the final Mothercrystal is deep within King Barnabas's domain on the continent of Ash. As Final Fantasy 16 players set foot on Ash, here is what they can expect as they begin the main scenario quest "Footfalls in Ash".

Go to Stonhyrr
After the cutscenes are over, begin following the path up toward Stonhyrr. Go through the castle gate to find an abandoned settlement. The only thing that players will find here are Ultima's minions. Not long into this quest, players will have to deal with a group of enemies. Deal with them and keep following the path to find more groups of enemies that stand in the way.
Further up the path, pull the lever to open the gate that blocks the way forward. Along the way, there will be a brief cutscene. Once it is over, keep following the path toward Stonhyrr.
Village Detour
According to an old map, there is a village nearby. Follow the waypoint to reach Eistla. There are some weak monsters along the way, and though they won't pose much of a threat they are still good for some extra ability points and experience. The only enemy to watch out for are the Blue Trifles. They have a lot of health and their ice magic does a lot of damage.
While in the Angry Gap, open the map and look for a small area that is secluded from the rest of the map. In this small space is a chronolith and a treasure chest that contains Masamune. If Final Fantasy 16 players already have Rangarok, then Masamune will not be an upgrade. But if players haven't gotten Ragnarok, then Masamune will be a decent upgrade in the meantime. Keep following the path and go across a bridge to reach the village.
Go inside the village to receive a less than warm welcome from a group of enemies. Several additional waves will spawn after the first group is dealt with. Once all the enemies have been cleared out, a cutscene will play. Once the cutscene has finished, explore the village.
Find a Way Past the Barrier
Go up the nearby stairs and approach the obelisk to enable fast travel back to this area. Pick up the nearby High Potion and then go through the door next to it. Upon entering the house, several cutscenes will play. Once they are all done, go right toward the gate that leads out of the village. Follow the path southeast toward the Edge of Infinity. Keep going until a cutscene plays and the world map opens. Go to Reverie to continue the story and begin the next main scenario quest.
