Even after aiding their allies across the realm in the previous main scenario quest of Final Fantasy 16, Clive and his allies face no shortage of troubles. The Free Cities of Kanver are under attack, and several of Clive's allies are stranded in a warehouse. Aided by his brother, Joshua, Clive sets out to find Mid, Byron, and Gav before it is too late to save them.

The main sceanrio quest "Cloak and Dagger" is fairly short, so it has been combined into one walkthrough with the following main scenario quest "Evenfall", which features a lot of combat. Here is what players can expect as they begin the next set of main scenario quests of Final Fantasy 16.

This walkthrough contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.

Go to Tabor

As this main scenario quest begins, head south toward the Krozjit Echoes. At this point, the red waypoint will jump toward a destination that is further south in this area. While going through the ruins, players will be attacked by Fallen constructs. Defeat them and keep moving.

While on the way, players will come across an NPC offering the side quest "Bad Blood". This side quest doesn't unlock any unique rewards, so players won't miss much if they ignore it and focus on the story. Upon arriving at Tabor, go to the right toward a small house to find Jote. The house is right next to an obelisk that opens fast travel for this area. Opening the door triggers several cutscenes.

Go to Kanver

Once the cutscenes are done, players will be back outside again. There is a vendor that players can purchase supplies from and there are several side quests in this area as well. When ready to advance the story, head southeast toward the Gilded Path. Leaving Tabor triggers a brief cutscene. Once the cutscene is over, continue onward to the Free Cities of Kanver.

On the way, players will have to deal with several groups of orcs. None of these enemies are particularly noteworthy or challenging, so players will have little difficulty in defeating them. Just outside of Kanver is another obelisk, and once players approach it will trigger a cutscene. After this, the world map will open and players will gain access to the Free Cities of Kanver. After a couple of cutscenes the next main scenario quest, "Evenfall", will begin.

Go to the Merchant's District

Though Kanver has fallen for the most part, there are several groups of survivors in need of rescue. Go down the road and toward the right and fight a couple of groups of enemies. Go up the stairs and head toward another group of enemies. Pick up the three bloody hides that are nearby the gate and then go through the gate to advance the story.

Continue to trek thorugh the streets of Kanver and eliminate any enemies that get in the way. Upon entering a courtyard, Final Fantasy 16 players will be attacked by an Orc Warlord. This foe hits hard, but he can easily be beaten by dodging his attacks and staggering him. After the battle, head toward the gate and open it. There is a High Potion on the left and a chest on the right, so make sure to grab them. As players enter a large courtyard, they should heal up and prepare for battle.

How to Beat Sleipnir

Several groups of weak enemies appear. Defeat them to trigger a cutscene followed by a boss fight with Harbard. Harbard, referred to as Sleipnir in this battle, is a very fast boss who will teleport all over the arena, especially when players are in melee range of him. As a result, it can be difficult to land more than a few hits on Sleipnir before he has already teleported away and gone on the offensive.

Dodge as much as possible and then quickly get a few strikes in before he teleports again. At 75% health, Sleipnir will stop holding back and a Cinematic Evasion sequence will occur. Sleipnir will use attacks where he shoots a line of energy at players. Dodge these as they do a lot of damage.

Upon falling below 50% health, Sleipnir will cast Dead Man's Bier. Move out of the red circles that appear on the ground to avoid taking damage. Players will also want to try to dodge all the moving circles and lines that shoot out from this attack as well. When the attack ends, Sleipnir stops for a moment to catch his breath. This is the perfect opportunity for players to hit him with as many attacks as possible.

As Sleipnir goes down to 25%, he will begin to unleash more and more attacks like Creeping Darkness where he unleashes a barrage of dark projectiles that coalesce and then explode. Keep dodging and attacking Sleipnir, and he will eventually be defeated. After Sleipnir is slain, several cutscenes will play and the current main scenario quest will come to an end.
