Between major story points in Final Fantasy 16, there is usually a smaller main scenario quest where Clive and the others figure out their next step at the Hideaway. While Clive does return to the Hideaway after defeating Hugo, this next main scenario quest is longer than the usual return to the Hideaway.

While there isn't a lot of new things for Final Fantasy 16 players to do in the "Bolts from the Blue" main scenario quest, it does give them a brief reprieve from all the action as the scene is set for future story developments. Here is what players can expect as they start "Bolts from the Blue".

This walkthrough contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.

A New Face

As the cutscenes end, players will be free to explore the Hideaway once again. Hugo was a tough boss, so players may want to take this time to restock on any consumables that were used. There is a new Notorious Mark for players to hunt as well if they are looking for an optional challenge.

Since players managed to defeat Hugo, they also gain a new set of abilities to use in combat as well. Titan abilities are powerful, so players may want to consider upgrading/unlocking them with any ability points they may have. One important thing that players should know is that they can only have three Eikons channeled at any given time. This can be changed on the Gear & Eikons tab on the menu. When ready, find Otto and speak to him. This triggers a cutscene where players are introduced to a character named Midadol Telamon (or Mid for short).

Mid's Favor

She asks Clive for a favor and swiftly departs. After the cutscene, go to the storeroom and speak to her. Mid wants to build a workshop, but she needs help from Clive. Begin this request by speaking with Charon. After that, go to the left and speak with Blackthorne. Once that is done, use the elevator to go down to the pier and speak with Bardolph. He's too busy to help Mid, but he suggests the carpenter at Martha's Rest as an option.

With the new objective, fast travel to Martha's Rest. If players happen to be working on the side quest "A Culinary Pilgrimage", this is a good opportunity to progress it while also advancing the story since players have to be in that area anyway. When ready to progress the story, speak with Martha. The carpenter, Bernard, is in the ruins of Cressida. This is northeast of Martha's Rest in the Greensheaves.

Along the way, Final Fantasy 16 players will come across a Chronolith called The Hand of Hyperion. It doesn't do anything yet, but make note of its location for later. Follow the red waypoint to find Bernard standing nearby a bridge. He needs help clearing out the ruins of his family's old home. Clear out several groups of enemies including the dragon. After a brief cutscene, return to the Hideaway and speak to Mid.

Visit Jill

Once Mid's request is finished, go to the infirmary to check in on Jill. Following a brief cutscene, go speak with Gav at the Shelves. After a cutscene plays out, speak with Vivian to progress the story and receive word of an unexpected guest. Go down to the pier again to speak with Byron to trigger another cutscene. Following the cutscene, talk to Otto and then speak to Byron again to open the world map. Once players travel to the Velkroy Desert, the next main scenario quest will begin.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now on PlayStation 5.
