The Final Fantasy 16 Demo carries a whopping two hours of gameplay to be experienced for free. Without giving too much away, the initial section of the demo showcases fine-tuned cinematics and an introduction to the world of Final Fantasy 16 as players go through a full tutorial regarding the combat system and other miscellaneous activities.

It also lays down a foundation for the main story, featured as a prologue, for fans to understand the very beginning of Clive's journey. The save data from the prologue, unlike previous games in the Final Fantasy series, can be transferred seamlessly into the base game, which releases on June 22nd, 2023.

Upon completing the prologue, a second part of the demo is unleashed upon players, which showcases the very combat potential of the game. This portion of the demo is heavily focused on combat and is set in the far future relative to the prologue. This area of the game is also one of the darkest, according to Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy 16. Although the prologue can only be experienced once, players can replay the second portion as long as they like. However, the saved data from this section of the game cannot be transferred to the full game for obvious reasons.

Final Fantasy 16 launches on June 22nd for PS5.
