Final Fantasy XIV (FF14) is an MMO version of the Final Fantasy series, which was made popular by Square Enix. In the game, players will take on the role of an adventurer who is exploring their own nation before branching out into the world and seeing merging storylines.

How To Get Materia In Final Fantasy 14 Online
If players want to create Materia, they will first need to complete the quest "Forging The Spirit," which can be found in Central Thanalan at The Bonfire. The quest giver, Swynbroes, will give players this quest once they are level 19 with a crafter. The type of Materia that players will be able to craft will depend upon their Job. For example, a Lancer would have Materia that is meant to increase Melee Damage.

One way that Materia can be gained is by extracting it. Players will need to create a Spiritbond with their items, which means that they will have to use their items in battle to create a bond with them. Then, they will be able to extract Materia from it. Additionally, Materia can be purchased from the Market Boards or crafted.
How To Set Materia In Final Fantasy 14 Online
In order to meld Materia to gear, players must first have a piece that has sockets. The picture above shows a weapon with two available sockets for Materia. Once a piece is found, players have a few options on how to meld it to their gear. The fastest way is to take it to a Materia Melder (one can be found in the same area as the quest was found). Additionally, most major cities will have them, and player housing can also have one if the Materia Melder Permit has been purchased.

If the player doesn't want to pay a Materia Melder, they can complete the quest "Waking the Spirit" at the same location as the other quest. This quest also requires the player to be level 19 with a crafter to accept the quest. Once that quest has been completed, the player can meld their Materia to their gear themselves.
