The Fast and the Furious movies are chock-full of action, cars, and themes of family. Throughout the saga, audiences have watched Dominic Toretto and his crew race, rob, and enact justice. The driving and racing in the movies are undeniably one of their best elements and part of what keeps fans always coming back for more.
Every character on Dom’s crew can drive or race expertly, but not all of them get the props they deserve for it. The new Fast and Furious 9 film that just came out shows all the crazy stunts, driving, and cool cars that any fan can hope for in a Fast movie.
10 Tej
Though Tej is not shown driving a lot throughout the series, when he does he drives exactly like you’d expect him to drive, with calm confidence. He might not be the flashiest driver or take many risks, but he definitely has good instincts. He excels at being the tech guy and is a stellar mechanic, so it makes sense that he is a good driver despite it not being his passion.
When the audience did get to see him drive, it was in street races in 2 Fast 2 Furious. He obviously has more of a passion for racing than heist driving, which is why his character is seen making sure the behind-the-scenes tasks get worked out for the rest of the crew to succeed at their jobs.
9 Sean Boswell
Sean Boswell is a small-town guy pushed into the streets of Tokyo where he learns to drift. At the beginning of Tokyo Drift, Sean can definitely race a car, though he struggles to keep it on the road. As he slowly learns how to drift from Han, he gets pretty good at it.
His spirit and strong will make him a good driver. His struggles and persistence to improve make him just as good a driver, if not better, than everyone else. His tenacity and love for driving prevail over his inability to drift and he comes out on top. This makes him a fan favorite and definitely a driver to keep an eye on, as he makes a cameo in Fast 9.
8 Mia Toretto
Mia is often overlooked when it comes to driving because her character plays a major role in other ways. She often helps ground the crew and her role is to ensure everyone keeps their heads on straight. But when Mia gets behind the wheel she is nothing to laugh at.
Mia is Dominic’s kid sister, so she knows her way around. Audiences really got to see her abilities in Fast 5, when she helps crash Dom’s prison bus to break him out. She drives tight and fast and gets the job done when she needs to. Mia often drives only when she has to, and that’s okay. Her skills are utilized in other ways and now she has a family to think about.
7 Suki
Suki is a character from 2 Fast 2 Furious that is both Tej’s girlfriend and a Miami Street racer. She races Brian in her custom pink 2000 Honda S2000 in the open race scene of the movie. Not only is she a great artist, but she is also a fierce driver. Don’t let the pink car and the fuzzy interior fool you, Suki can get the job done when she has something to prove.
In the race against Brian, Suki comes in 2nd place, which is no small feat considering how experienced a driver Brian is. When Suki races, she races for fun, with her fun-spirited attitude adding something to the racing scenes.
6 Gisele
Gisele is probably one of the best precision drivers in the series. She can drive quickly and exactly while remaining in control of her car. Her character was a former Mossad Agent and that training defiantly helps her along the way. In Fast 5 as the crew prepares for the vault heist, Gisele proves to everyone she can drive the extremely complicated course that they set up in the warehouse they are hiding in.
Everyone else tries and fails and Gisele is the one who makes the time the closest. She beats out Han himself, who is one of the best drifters in the series and drifting takes extreme precision. She can also drive a motorcycle easily. It's one of the many reasons why she's such a beloved member of the series.
5 Roman Pierce
Roman Pierce drives exactly like his character acts: cocky and fast. Sometimes this gets him in trouble but it’s also the key to his success. He's arrogant and a show-off, but that's what allows him to take crazy risks, like jumping a car into a boat with Brian in 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Derby driving is where he got his start and is where his skill lies, and that makes a lot of sense. Derby driving is all about destruction and the arrogant Roman excels at that style of driving.
4 Brian O' Connor
Brian O’ Connor is a beloved character who brought so much to the franchise since his first moments on screen. Brian is carefree and drives for the fun of it. Brian is an incredibly motivated driver who can do anything he puts his mind to. From jumping his car onto a boat to dragging a giant vault through the streets of Rio, Brain's skills are unmatched. That’s why he and Dom make an amazing team and that’s why everyone respects him as a driver.
Brian's love for racing, driving and his crew makes him one of the better drivers of the bunch. He is definitely neck and neck with Dominic as they continue to race each other through the saga, proving who is best. They always end up tying or letting the other win. In reality, they are equals and best friends.
3 Letty
Letty is an amazing driver who drives with no abandon. As close as Brian is to Dom, Letty is his equal in style. They both drive like they have nothing to lose and will do just about anything to get the job done. She views every race as all or nothing with this same feeling being applied to heists and missions.
Letty is cool and confident in her ability to drive and that confidence is what makes her so good. She has no fear and will quite literally put her life on the line to get the job done.
2 Han
Han is reserved but confident. When audiences first met him in Tokyo Drift he was watchful and quiet, but he was a force to be reckoned with when he was behind the wheel. He is a master class racer and can drift with ease.
Han's ability to stay calm and collected in high-pressure situations makes him an excellent driver. He is super patient and this gives him an advantage over drivers like Roman or Sean, who drive like they have something to prove.
1 Dominic Toretto
Obviously, Dominic Toretto is a phenomenal driver. Dom is a calm, confident, risk-taking driver. From driving a tank that is on fire to jumping his car off a cliff, Dom can and will do it all. He is so versatile and skilled that there really is no telling what he will Do until he does it.
No one can beat Dom and no one has yet. Brian has come close, but Dominic definitely let him win as a gift. Toretto drives like he lives and leads, with his whole heart and a quarter-mile at a time.
