With the release of Far Cry 6 less than one month away, many fans are looking forward to getting their hands on the final version of the game. After being delayed numerous times, fans will finally be able to experience all that Far Cry 6 has to offer in terms of gameplay and narrative. This includes facing off against Far Cry's newest villain, Anton Castillo.

Since the game was first announced back in July of 2020, Giancarlo Esposito's portrayal of Castillo has been something that many fans have been looking forward to seeing in-game. The villains of Far Cry have always served as a highlight for many who play these games and it looks like Esposito's character will manage to live up to the precedents set by Far Cry's previous villains. Although, a new trailer features the upcoming villain in a more intimate way.

Earlier today, Ubisoft dropped a new trailer featuring Esposito playing himself dressed as Anton Castillo. What makes this trailer significantly different than other similar trailers is that Esposito is directly talking to the game's player base. Instead of talking about Dani Rojas or other guerilla factions, he addresses players as if they were the one's actually taking Castillo down, and it is quite intimidating.

While Giancarlo Esposito is primarily known for his work in Breaking Bad, his presence in Far Cry 6 lends itself to the bone chilling villain portrayals that Far Cry is known for. This trailer more than shows that his calm, chilling demeanor found in previous roles will make Castillo one of the most memorable Far Cry villains ever created.

Then again, Far Cry 6 could potentially suffer the same pitfall that nearly every installment that came before it possesses. For how memorable Far Cry's villains are, unfortunately, most of them are incredibly under-utilized and hardly show up throughout the main game. Many fans consider Vaas Montenegro in Far Cry 3 to be one of the most beloved video game villains of all time and yet, he only appears in the game for about fifteen minutes.

It will be interesting to see how Ubisoft utilizes Giancarlo Esposito in Far Cry 6. Given that previous Far Cryvillains will appear in Far Cry 6 DLC, it's evident that Ubisoft knows how much fans enjoy the villains of Far Cry. Thus, it's possible that Anton Castillo might be featured more prominently throughout the course of Far Cry 6's campaign.

Far Cry 6 will release on October 7 for Amazon Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
