Through each video game season, there stands a character that draws an unbelievable amount of love and attention. The early part of 2021 was squarely focused on Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu. Now that players have capped off their journey through the gothic barrens and had their fill of the very tall vampire lady, another mascot is ready to take the podium. This time, players can look to Far Cry 6 for the next internet darling.

In Far Cry 6's recent gameplay trailer, it was capped off with footage of a new animal companion in the form of "Chorizo." The wheelchair-bound dachshund puppy stole all the attention of the trailer, being the perfect way to cap off the mayhem shown. The undeniable cuteness and spunk of Chorizo charmed the internet, but a gaming Twitter account decided to chime in with some macabre humor.

The official Diablo Twitter account decided to go all-in on the franchise's dark tone by taking a jab at the little puppy. The response was to the official Xbox Twitter account that posted a GIF of the little rascal, noting how Far Cry 6's arsenal is crucial in protecting him. The Diablo account decided to reword Xbox's tweet by noting that "fire" plays a key part in cooking "Chorizo." Obviously a play on the dog's name, it still makes quite the unsavory statement.

The Diablo Tweet has definitely made a noticeable impact fitting right in with the franchise's twisted humor. The tweet itself may also be a chance to prepare players for the impending evil to come throughout 2021. This year will see two big Diablo releases in the form of the mobile-only title Diablo Immortal and the remaster of Diablo 2, which will hit most major platforms.

As for Far Cry 6, while Chorizo stands as the most prominent piece of information on the game, the recent reveals have shown a lot more for fans to be excited about. The biggest piece of news was the release date for Far Cry 6 which is officially set to release on most platforms this October. Alongside the date, players were finally able to get a more in-depth look at Far Cry 6's series standard lunacy through open-world mayhem.

While Far Cry 6 now has an official launch date, Diablo fans are still waiting on confirmation of a release date for Diablo 2: Resurrected. Currently, the title is still set as a 2021 launch aiming for later in the year. Considering a "late 2021" is estimated, it may come in just as the fanfare for little Chorizo is at an all-time high.

Far Cry 6 launches October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
