The primary obstacle that Far Cry 6 players will encounter as they attempt to fly across the island of Yara is the various Anti Aircraft Cannons found throughout the map. When Far Cry 6 players fly into the airspace of one of the cannons, they will receive a brief warning before being shot down.
There are a total of 26 Anti Aircraft Cannons placed throughout the map, and players should make it a priority to destroy them in each region they are currently doing operations in. While the cannons may look menacing, destroying them is extremely easy with the right equipment.
How To Locate Anti Aircraft Cannons
Anti Aircraft Cannon locations can be easily identified on the in-game map by the presence of a large red circle. When players see the circle, it lets them know that there is an Anti Aircraft Cannon present in that specific region.
One of the easiest ways to pinpoint the cannon's location is to look for any FND bases within the red circle. FND bases will be outlined with a red border and larger bases will almost always contain Anti Aircraft Cannons.
Once players are in the vicinity of a cannon, it will be marked on the player's map and will even appear on their HUD. Players should take caution before approaching the cannon, as their locations are guarded by nearby FND troops.
How To Destroy Anti Aircraft Cannons
To destroy the cannons simply use any type of explosive weapon on the structure - grenade launchers and rocket launchers work best. The cannons are typically destroyed by a single explosion, making it easy for the player to destroy the cannon and quickly slip away before reinforcements are called.
If players don't have a grenade or rocket launcher in their inventory, the cannons can also be destroyed by using any type of throwable explosive such as a grenade or block of c4. These items are set to the player's Supremo mods at any workstation found in the game.
If a scenario presents itself where players lack any explosive weapon or throwable, they can use the Exterminador Supremo to destroy the cannon. Players should note that after destroying 16 cannons they will unlock the "Friendly Skies" achievement/trophy.
Anti Aircraft Cannon Destruction Rewards
After destroying an Anti Aircraft Cannon, players will find a reward nearby in the form of "Depleted Uranium". The location of the uranium can be identified on the minimap by a radioactive icon.
Depleted Uranium is a resource that is used to craft Far Cry 6's unique Resolver weapons. These weapons can only be crafted at the Libertad HQ south of the Zamok Archipielago.
