Far Cry 5 gave players a better opportunity to drive, fly, and shoot around in their vehicles compared to most other Far Cry games. It's all thanks to its fictional setting of choice, Hope County, Montana. There's no shortage of diesel guzzlers retrofitted with freedom and a healthy serving of .50-cal.
Given the wide selection of vehicles in Far Cry 5, determining the best ones is a lengthy side mission in itself. So, here's a compilation of the most 'Murrican rides that players can roll with in Hope County in case players want to tap into their inner Dukes of Hazzard with a grizzly bear in the passenger's seat and a bald eagle on the hood. Don't forget the cowboy hat.
10 Salacia RHIB-Z800
Off to a slow start, but players need something to swim the nasty 'gator and monster catfish-ridden wetlands of Hope County. Swimming isn't going to cut it, of course, so here's the best boat in the game. It's an inflatable motor boat but with a mounted M60 at the back.
Sometimes it's a .50-cal but both machine guns are fluent in lead slugs and freedom talk anyway. Both variants of the Salacia RHIB-Z800 can help players dominate the rivers in the game though transitioning from the driver's seat to the mounted gun can be cumbersome.
9 Quad-State Area
It's really just a Funaki E-716 but painted with the ever-loving colors of the home of the brave and certified Texas barbecue masters. Because nothing beats an all-terrain vehicle when scaling those bumpy farms or steep forest mountains in Hope County.
Players might as well do it in style, and Clutch Nixon's Quad-State Area ATV is the most fitting vehicle for anyone who doesn't mind mud on their faces and mountain peak jumps. Players will need to finish "The Mooseknuckle Run" if they want this.
8 Uncle Sam
This star-spangled beauty might be even better than its inspiration vehicle, the old Chevrolet Camaro SS (1969) or it could also be an old Ford Mustang. Far Cry 5 was thoughtful and caring enough to include it in its most patriotic form yet. Any daredevil worth his salt and cowboy chaps can't miss this one.
Granted, it's nothing special under the hood. A lot of vehicles will even outclass it, but it's loud, proud, and it will please the crowd (or run over them since there are no guns). Players will want to finish "Baptism of Fire" in order to liberate this beauty into their hands.
7 Widowmaker
Even semi trucks aren't exempt from the daredevil flair in Far Cry 5. The Widowmaker truck is by far the most stylish truck in the game and it thankfully comes as part of the story mission "The Widowmaker" which is hard to miss. It's along the main story progression.
Again, like the previous stylish vehicles, The Widowmaker isn't really that practical, especially in the heat of combat but if players just want to cruise around flattening enemies occasionally, then there's no better tool or vehicle for the job.
6 The Bootlegger
But there are times when players must heed the call of gunfire and respond accordingly with a fluent barrage of lead while staying in the safety of their vehicle, just as the founding fathers intended. For such a nationalistic endeavor, The Bootlegger is the right patriot for the job.
IT's really just a Camaro clone modified with a machine gun mount at the roof. It's no slouch either, that thing is a .50-cal gun. It's also great for off-roading. Who needs Humvees when these things can rip enemy outposts and their helicopters to shreds?
5 1973 SSR Pygmalion Vroom and Boom
The 1973 SSR Pygmalion Vroom and Boom or the Goldenvroom variant might be more appealing for those who prefer to just drive while firing their machine guns in case certain obstacles think they're good enough to block the way. There's no turret on the roof.
Instead, players get dual-mounted M60 machine guns that fire straight, clearing the path for those who encounter roadblocks on the American way. After getting a taste of this vehicle, it's hard to go back to the base and default Pygmalion. Players just need to complete the "Punchline Live Event" for the Vroom and Boom.
4 2014 AdjudiCor Mastodon XZT "Surface To
Tanks are overrated, Humvees fitted with rocket launchers are the kings of armored warfare in Far Cry 5. And the AjudiCor Mastodon XZT ticks all the firepower checkboxes and then some. In the driver's seat, players can spit fire with dual-mounted rocket launchers.
But if they want more precision and control, then there's always the M2 machine gun on the roof. The "Surface To variant is great for whacking down some buzzing planes in case they're beginning to think they're too holy for the ground.
3 Pack Hunter
There are times when being a grizzly bear with a .50-cal machine gun strapped to its shoulders isn't enough. Sometimes, players might channel their inner bald eagle and soar. Thankfully, there's no shortage of airplanes in Far Cry 5 and the best among them is the Pack Hunter.
Like most airplanes in the game, it's hard to control especially if players miss a turn, but this glorious beaked beauty comes equipped with twin machine guns, bombs, and even rocket launchers. It's the full suite of fireworks poised for the 4th of July. Players will need to complete teh "Hanger Pains Prepper Stash" mission for this plane.
2 Kaumbat R-31 Air Buzzer
Helicopters are easier to land and control so for a lot of players, they might be the more preferable choice. The vertical take-off and landing are certainly a godsend in preserving the aircraft instead of going kamikaze after missing a landing strip. And among the helicopters in the game, the Kaumbat R-31 Air Buzzer spared no expense.
It comes stacked with rockets, and machine guns. Compared to the plane, helicopters are also easier to control, letting players surgically destroy enemy armored vehicles and take over outposts in just a relaxed hover.
1 Wingsuit
The best vehicle in Far Cry 5 will forever be the one that's the most available and doesn't get destroyed, and the Wingsuit has become an overpowered and superhuman tool that allows players to cover great distances and fall with style without turning into a tarmac pancake.
In combination with the parachute, it can even allow players to snipe or ambush enemy outposts and clear the whole territory if they're skilled enough with their aim. It's a bit impractical for on-demand transportation, but no other vehicle in the game lets players come close to a mighty bald eagle drunk on bravery and Redbull.
