With WandaVision opening up a slew of exciting multiverse possibilities, fans are hoping to see some of their favorite superheroes from Disney's recent mergers and acquisitions make their grand debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The company's purchase of Twentieth Century Fox, in particular, has sparked several theories of the Fantastic Four characters possibly appearing in upcoming Phase 4 or 5 projects, and a new Deepfake video imagines A Quiet Place stars John Krasinski and Emily Blunt in the lead roles.

Accompanying such theories are fan suggestions of which actors should be cast in the titular roles. The most popular ones by far are Krasinski for Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, and Emily Blunt for Sue Storm, a.k.a. Invisible Woman. Aside from the swath of fan art that has been circulating the web, there are also videos made with Deepfake technology that attempt to visualize how the two would look like as Fantastic Four members in a motion picture.

A YouTuber named "Stryder HD" created one such video and posted it onto his channel. He noted that, like many other people, he believes Krasinski and Blunt would be perfect for the movie. Referencing 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four film, he took the scenes where Reed Richards (previously played by Ioan Gruffudd) and Sue Storm (previously played by Jessica Alba) had dialogue or interactions with one another. His manipulated clips certainly offer a convincing depiction of two as the blue-suited scientists.

In response to the overwhelming online speculation, Justin Kroll, the senior reporter at Deadline, recently took to Twitter to provide fans an update on the project. According to his sources, director Jon Watts' Fantastic Four film is still in its very, very early stages of development—as in, Marvel has only just started meeting with the potential writers. As it stands, there is still no script or confirmed castings, and actual production of the film will likely not happen for quite some time.

Kroll's statement also debunked another popular rumor that Jennifer Lawrence was being tapped to play Sue Storm in the upcoming project. The rumor started after it was reported that Lawrence was interested in joining the MCU, but not as X-Men member Mystique; the Marvel role for which she is most known. Additionally, The Daily Telegraph alleged that Lawrence was headed to Australia to film for the Fantastic Four project, though such reports were unconfirmed.

Recently, fans suspect the Fantastic Four might make their MCU debut in WandaVision through an appearance by Reed Richards, whom many believed would be the aerospace engineer mentioned by Monica Rambeau. However, this theory proved to be wrong when the engineer in question turned out to an original character named Major Goodner.

Fantastic Four is currently in development at Disney and Marvel Studios.
