Fallout fans are excited that the live-action series coming to Amazon Prime Video finally got a release date update, along with a teaser at Gamescom 2023 that has not been released to the public yet.

The Fallout series was first announced in 2020 and is produced by the creators of the HBO TV series Westworld in partnership with Bethesda Studios. Jonathan Nolan, one of the Westworld creators, will also direct at least the premier episode of the series. The Fallout cast includes Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Aaron Moten, and more. Little is known about the show's plot.

Amazon Prime Video's X post updated fans on the Fallout TV series. The post says the series will be released on Prime Video in 2024 but does not give any specific release date. Additionally, the post provided more information about the series, saying it will take place in Los Angeles and Vault 33. This is the first post from Prime Video about the series since they posted a first-look Fallout photo last October.

Along with the post by Amazon Prime Video was a teaser at Gamescom 2023 that won’t be released to the public yet. Those who saw the teaser say that the production value seems high with quality special effects, practical sets, and costumes that were in previous leaks. The Fallout teaser also revealed Walton Goggins' ghoul character in full makeup and prosthetics and reportedly resembled John Hancock from Fallout 4. There is no confirmation on when the studio will release a teaser to the public, but fans should keep their eyes open.

Hopes and expectations for the Fallout series are high, with some talented creators working on it and a set that looks ripped straight out of the games. With recent video game adaptations like The Last of Us not just being popular, but being nominated for multiple Emmys, hopefully, the series can deliver a product that lives up to those high expectations.

Unlike The Last of Us series, which followed closely along with the stories in the video game, the Fallout series will not be connected to or follow the stories in the games. Although this decision upset some fans, the Fallout franchise's world is large, and it's probably best that the show explores original places and characters that fans haven’t seen in the games.

Fallout is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2024.
