Veronica is one of the potential companions found in Fallout: New VegasVeronica is a member of the Brotherhood of Steel who can be found at the 188 Trading Post. Players are able to learn about her family, some personal information, and her past with the Brotherhood of Steel. There are also some interesting perks to keeping Veronica as a companion, leading her to be a valuable follower depending on the player's choices.

10 Her Full Name Is Veronica Renata Santangelo

Like most followers in Fallout: New Vegas, Veronica is known by only her first name. According to the 'Meet the Companions' blogpost, Veronica's full name is Veronica Renata Santangelo. It is interesting to see that this companion has a full name.

While it does not add anything to gameplay, fans of Veronica would probably like learning a bit more about her. Judging by her name, it would appear that Veronica is of Hispanic descent.

9 Parents Killed In Battle With NCR

She would not be a good companion if Veronica did not have a tragic backstory. Speaking to her, it is possible to hear about her family's past. Veronica will say her dad was a paladin and her mom was a scribe. She will also mention they were killed in battle against the New California Republic.

Veronica was young when this happened, meaning she was orphaned at a young age. Luckily, she had the Brotherhood of Steel to raise her.

8 Saw Father Elijah As Father Figure And Mentor

Father Elijah is the antagonist of the Dead Money DLC. What players might not have known is that Elijah became the mentor and father figure of Veronica after her parents died.

It would seem Elijah had some good in him before he went to the Sierra Madre. After dealing with Elijah in the DLC, players can give his holomessage to Veronica to unlock a unique perk.

7 Wants To Recieve A Dress

Veronica has an unmarked quest associated with her. It is a simple request; all she wants is a dress. Players can give her either formal wear or White Glove Society attire. Giving either outfit will cause Veronica to get excited.

Players will also get the unarmed perk Scribe Counter, which will allow the player to quickly counterattack opponents. If that isn't rewarding enough, players can see Veronica get excited about getting a dress.

6 Talking Negatively About BoS Makes Her Unrecruitable

When the player first speaks to Veronica, they get a few options when talking. If the player says something negative relating to the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica will not be available for recruitment. This gives the Courier one less companion to travel the Mojave with.

If the player has already blown up the Hidden Valley bunker and admits this to Veronica, she will turn hostile and attack the player. The player will be forced to either flee or kill Veronica.

5 Will Leave Courier If BoS Reputation Drops Low

Much like many of the companions in New Vegas, Veronica has a limit when it comes to the player's actions. If they blow up the Hidden Valley bunker or become vilified by the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica will leave the player. Depending on what the player does, Veronica may also attack them.

It is sad to think about, but Veronica will go on her way. Players wanting to keep Veronica around need to watch out what they do to Brotherhood of Steel members.

4 Was In Love With Christine Royce

Christina Royce is met in-person during the Dead Money DLC. By going through the DLC, players can discover that she was once a part of the Brotherhood of Steel. She was also the lover of Veronica before Father Elijah stepped in.

Elijah used his status to separate them and break them up. Christine's parents also did not approve of the relationship, as same-sex relationships were frowned upon in the Brotherhood of Steel.

3 Will Open Hidden Valley Bunker For Player

When players first stumble across the Hidden Valley bunker, they are surrounded by Brotherhood knights. The player will have an explosive collar put on them and will be stripped of their gear. Only after dealing with an NCR Ranger will the player be allowed inside.

By having Veronica as a companion, they can skip this. Veronica will walk up to the intercom and request to be let in. After a humorous exchange, the doors will open and the player will be able to walk right in.

2 Has Rivalry With Watkins

Veronica gets along with almost everyone in the Hidden Valley bunker. It is known that Veronica was tasked with leaving the bunker because of her criticisms. By bringing Veronica around Watkins in the bunker, they can see a rivalry or at least hostility.

Veronica will make fun of Watkins' lazy eye, while Watkins will respond about Veronica always wearing a hood. This is the only time open hostility can be seen towards Veronica by members of the Brotherhood of Steel.

1 Can Leave The Brotherhood Of Steel

Veronica can be convinced to leave the Brotherhood of Steel during her companion quest. If convinced, Veronica will try to join the Followers of the Apocalypse. The player will need to wait a day, with the player coming back to dead Followers and Brotherhood paladins in the area.

Veronica will blame herself for the deaths of the Followers. She was already a critic of the Brotherhood after HELIOS, but the murder of innocent people is what causes Veronica to leave the organization. She will also earn a new perk which causes her to have a 30% increased attack rate.
