In Fallout 76, wolves are mutated animals that often spawn in forests and near abandoned campsites and cabins. These predators come in different types, namely the Vicious, Black, Rabid, Diseased, and Deadly. Although wolves are not among the most precious hunts in the game, they are still valuable creatures that Fallout 76 veterans would love to farm. The only issue is that they are among the rare spawns of Appalachia, and it takes some time to find them in packs.
This guide, however, teaches players all the nitty-gritty of tracking wolf packs and farming them for profit.
Best Wolf Locations in Fallout 76
The best location to get wolves is Autumn Acre Cabin northeast of the Top of the World building. This is an ideal wolf farming spot as it consistently spawns a pack of six wolves. Players can also find wolves in Riverside Manor, Investigator’s Cabin, and northwest parts of Widow’s Perch.
Location | Wolves |
Autumn Acre Cabin | A pack of six wolves |
Riverside Manor | A pack of three wolves |
Investigator’s Cabin | 3–4 wolves in the area |
Widow’s Perch | 2–3 wolves roaming around |
Alternative Ways for Farming Wolves
An ideal way of finding wolves is by doing Fallout 76’s Leader of the Pack event. During this time-limited mission, players will need to track down three packs of wolves and take down their leaders. The challenge starts after talking to Melody Larkin and investigating Aaronholt Homestead, Tyler County Fairgrounds, or Transmission Station 1AT-U03.
Not only will this event reveal the best wolf-farming spots on the map, but it will also unlock another event called Wolf Horde: The Forest, which allows for getting even more mutated creatures. Additionally, the pack leader—1-star Legendaries of the hordes—will drop at least one Legendary item.
If the event doesn’t appear on the map, try server-hopping, and look for another world.
How to Complete the “Sell Wolf Ribs” Challenge
Fallout 76 has a Daily Challenge that prompts players to sell wolf ribs to an NPC vendor. To finish this side quest, kill a wolf and loot its raw meat. Then, head back to the CAMP, cook the meat on the stove, and sell the product to one of the merchants in the area. Players will earn 313 S.C.O.R.E. for completing this challenge.
Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
