The Abandoned Waste Dump in Fallout 76, similar to Emmett Mountain Disposal Site, is a hidden location that is covered in nuclear waste and loot that players can pick up. There is also an extensive cave, serving as former U.S. Senator Sam Blackwell's bunker, used to protect him and his daughter during the Great War.

Though this area can be beneficial for players as it can supply you with useful resources and items, it can also be a bit difficult to locate and approach without being overtaken by the radiation. If you're wondering where you can find this secret bunker, here's where to go.

Can't seem to figure out how to reach the New River Gorge Bridge in Fallout 76? Here's what you need to do.

Where to Find Abandoned Waste Dump in Fallout 76

If you're searching for the Abandoned Waste Dump on the map, but can't seem to find it, this is because it is completely unmarked. There aren't any symbols on the map to indicate its location; instead, you'll only unlock its marker on the map once you've approached the area.

To find it on the map, you'll want to check out the eastern section, right in the middle. The Abandoned Waste Dump will be found in a forest area, south of Haven Church and northeast of Harpers Ferry and The Burrows, where you can find the Brotherhood of Steel.

As you make your way through the swampy area, you'll notice a fence with some broken-down trucks and a lot of toxic waste barrels. This will be the outer area of the Abandoned Waste Dump. At the back, there will be a cave entrance, allowing you access to the cavern surrounding Sam Blackwell's Bunker.

Towards the back of the cave, there will be a small hole in the wall near a Deathclaw Nest. Inside, you'll find a corpse with the Operation Summary - Blackwell holotape. Play this, and then you'll unlock the Bunker Buster quest. Marked on the map, you'll find the entrance to the bunker at the back, with a white elevator door. Inside the elevator, play the holotape to the access panel to open it up.

How to Complete Bunker Buster in Fallout 76

After you've entered the bunker, head down the stairs to get started on the Bunker Buster quest. You'll then want to follow these steps:

  • Head through the blue door on the left. Then, follow the path up the stairs and head into the first room on the left.
  • Here, there will be an office desk with the Security System Manual Reset. Pick this up, and then complete the three tasks that are marked on the map.
  • From the main entrance that you arrived at, now head through the blue door straight ahead. Make your way straight through the first doorway, then approach the hand scanner to activate it.
  • At the desk in the secure room, approach Sam's personal terminal to find the access code for the room. Open the 'Judy's Gone' Personal Log to find the code: 021584. Type this into the keypad in the middle of the room.
  • Then, approach the painting on the wall with a red boat. You'll receive the 'Welcome to the Whitespring' holotape, which you can play from your Pip-Boy.
  • This will complete the quest, and allow you to access the One of Us quest, which you can begin by heading south of the Whitespring Resort.

After completing the quest, you'll get 50 XP, 60 Caps, the Congressional access card, and a Deathclaw Gauntlet. Outside just completing this quest, you can also explore the bunker a bit more and pick up a lot of items, like a Hunting Rifle, and some crafting scraps.
