The main storyline surrounding the Skyline Valley region is an interesting one. This update is the first one that actually allows players to make some fairly consequential decisions further down the line. Decision-making hasn't been a big part of Fallout 76 until now. Before this update, the decisions players made had little to no long-term impact.

Fallout 76's Skyline Valley update brought with it several changes that players may not have been expecting.

After completing Into Lands Unknown, the player will automatically start the quest: The Calm Before. It's not a very long quest. It can be completed in under 10 minutes. However, it provides players with some much-needed insight into the characters that inhabit Vault 63.

Hugo in Fallout 76

Upon entering Dark Hollow Manor, you'll be confronted by a couple of waves of Lost and Feral Lost enemies. The first thing you'll need to do is take out the enemies within the area. After killing all of the enemies, you'll need to find the entrance to Vault 63.

Head downstairs to the basement. Here, you will see a hand scanner next to a strange-looking wall panel. There's an intercom next to the wall panel. Hilda will start talking through the intercom. Talk to Hilda; she will tell you to go and loot a hand from one of the dead enemies from upstairs.

Head upstairs. At the top of the stairs, you'll see a dead enemy with a hand that you can loot. Loot the hand and head back down the stairs. Use the hand on the hand scanner, and the wall will open up, revealing an elevator to Vault 63.

Fallout 76's Skyline Valley update brought with it a few new guns for players to add to their collection.

Head inside Vault 63. Once inside, you'll be greeted by Hilda. After talking to her, she will instruct you to speak to Hugo in the Overseers Office. Hugo will ask you if you want to do some work for him and the residents of Vault 63.

He asks you to go and meet Oberlin and fetch a Situation Report from him. Oberlin can be found in the Security Wing of Vault 63.

After speaking with Oberlin, head back up to Hugo to give him the Situation Report. He will discuss other jobs that he'd like you to do. After wrapping up the conversation, you will receive your rewards for completing the quest.

A Unique Plan For Completing The Quest

Vault 63 Burnt Jumpsuit in Fallout 76

The rewards for this quest aren't great. But the quest is very short and easy to complete. Upon completing The Calm Before, you'll receive some XP, some random aid items, and a few other small random items.

The main reward for completing this quest is the plan to craft the Vault 63 Burnt Jumpsuit. As the name suggests, this jumpsuit Vault 63 wardrobe. There are a couple of Vault 63 jumpsuits that you will unlock as you progress through this new questline.
