Fallout 76 has 11 Power Armor sets; this guide explains what they are and how they can be obtained.

While it is an expensive set to get, it's worth the grind for several reasons. With the right perks, mods, and legendary rolls, Secret Service armor can offer players a level of protection that is unmatched when compared to all other non Power Armor sets in the game.

5 How To Get Secret Service Armor

The Gold Bullion Grind

Regs Sitting in A Chair in Fallout 76

In order to buy plans to craft Secret Service armor pieces, the player will need to complete the main Wastelanders questline. Upon completing it, the player will have access to Vault 79. Inside Vault 79, there is a trader called Regs that sells all sorts of plans. This includes all of the plans for Secret Service armor pieces and all of the mods that can be applied to the armor.

It's a costly set. Players will need to save up their Gold Bullion in order to buy plans from Regs. There are a couple of important things to know about the plans Regs sells. First, players don't need to buy the plan to craft the Secret Service Helmet. The helmet offers nothing to the player other than its appearance and ability to prevent the player from catching airborne diseases. Most other helmets and masks also prevent the player from catching airborne diseases, so it's best to give this one a miss.

Second, it may be worth waiting before buying Secret Service plans from Regs. Minerva is a traveling merchant who sells some of the same plans that Regs does at a 25% discount. She can be found in different locations and sells different plans every week. FalloutBuilds is a very useful website for finding out where she will be and what she'll be selling.

4 Legendary By Default

Craft Legendary Armor While Using Fewer Modules

Legendary Modules are required to roll legendary effects on weapons and armor pieces. Rolling for a 3-star legendary armor piece usually costs 5 Legendary Cores and 3 Legendary Modules. However, crafting any piece of Secret Service Armor costs just one Legendary Module. This is because the armor pieces are legendary by default.

Fallout 76: Which Legendary Armor Pieces Are Worth Keeping?

As you play Fallout 76, you will eventually come across Legendary armor pieces that have powerful effects, and here are some things to keep in mind.

The reason why this is so good is that the player will receive a random star roll every time they craft a Secret Service Armor piece. So, instead of costing 5 Legendary Cores and 3 Legendary Modules to roll for legendary effects, players can use just 1 Legendary Module alongside some junk to craft pieces.

While the player won't always get a 3-star legendary armor piece, it is much easier to farm junk than it is to farm Legendary Cores and Modules. Since the player will be using a third of the Legendary Modules than they would while rolling a specific armor piece, players will have more chances to roll something nice.

Ideal legendary effects that players typically look for when it comes to Secret Service Armor are Overeater's, Unyielding, and Vanguard's.

3 Great Resistances

An Insanely High Level Of Protection

Outside of Power Armor, Secret Service armor offers the highest damage, energy, and radiation resistance compared to all other armor sets. While Power Armor will always be top of the list in terms of resistances, Secret Service armor doesn't require Fusion Cores or specific perks to maximize its effectiveness. The standard stats for each level 50 Secret Service Armor piece can be seen below:

  • Arms: 40 Damage, Energy, and Radiation Resistance
  • Legs: 40 Damage, Energy, and Radiation Resistance
  • Chest Piece: 90 Damage Resistance. 60 Energy and Radiation Resistance

If the player invests Gold Bullion in Secret Service Armor mods, then they can increase those figures by quite a bit. The best mod is called Buttressed. With this mod applied to all pieces, the player's armor will give the player the following resistances:

  • Arms: 53 Damage, Energy, and Radiation Resistance
  • Legs: 53 Damage, Energy, and Radiation Resistance
  • Chest Piece: 115 Damage Resistance, 85 Energy and Radiation Resistance

2 A Fun Set To Show Off

Obtaining all of the plans and crafting all the Secret Service armor pieces isn't cheap. Nor can it be done quickly. Players have to save up for weeks to build up enough Gold Bullion to purchase all of the plans for this set.

So, it's no surprise that players like to show off their Secret Service Armor to other players. Players can display the armor pieces at their CAMP or wear them with no outfit over the top to show everyone else what they managed to earn. It's also one of the best-looking armor sets in the game, which is another great reason to show it off to others.
