On the back of the last update that went extraterrestrial with the "Invaders From Beyond" event, Bethesda will continue its support for the game after recently announcing that they have a five-year plan for Fallout 76's continued updates and support. Bethesda recently released a 2022 roadmap for Fallout 76, to show fans what they can expect to see added to the game over the next 12 months.

Despite its rocky start back in 2018, Fallout 76 has evolved in the last 4 years thanks to constant updates and fixes from Bethesda. Initially, fans encountered a glitch-ridden and unstable game that was not worthy of the Fallout name. In 2022 the game is almost unrecognizable from those early problems and has grown a loyal and substantial player base. Last month the game had a peak of 9,269 concurrent players on Steam, couple those stats with players on other formats and the evidence is there that Fallout 76 is maintaining players' interest.

The "Test Your Metal Round 2" update will continue with the story of the Rust Eagle raiders and their construction of an army of deadly robots and the Brotherhood of Steel's continuing investigation. "Eviction Notice" will task players with discovering the fate of a special encampment of settlers that had colonized a heavily irradiated blast crater with the aid of some new tech known as a Rad Scrubber. Finally, "Moonshine Jamboree" will task the players with discovering and defending the Handy bot, Moonshiner Ned from a horde of venomous Gulpers.

Although Fallout 76 remains popular with its loyal fan base there is an argument that Bethesda's continued support for the game is a strategy to delay any developments within the core franchise, specifically the development of Fallout 5. But while Fallout 76 remains popular and more importantly profitable, fans can expect Bethesda to follow their 2022 roadmap stringently.

Fallout 76 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
