The final Fallout 76 Inside the Vault of 2023 reveals a new map expansion for 2024. Fallout 76 has had ups and downs since it was released, but each expansion brings tons more content to the game, a standard that will continue in 2024.

Though Fallout 76 was released with many bugs that compromised gameplay, Bethesda has remained dedicated to it. On top of smaller patches and hotfixes, Fallout 76 has received 17 major updates since 2019. These include Nuclear Winter, which provided its own take on battle royale, and the Fallout Worlds patch, which added private worlds to the game. Through this continued support, expansions like Wastelanders, Steel Reign, and Expeditions: The Pitt have been released. Bethesda will seemingly continue to add to the game in 2024 as it has teased a new map expansion.

As part of the show's marketing campaign, Fallout 76 players will be able to claim a free cosmetic item that was featured heavily in its new trailer.

The latest Fallout 76 Inside the Vault included a letter from Art Director Jon Rush. Rush confirms that the Fallout 76 map will be expanded upon in late 2024 in this letter. This expansion focuses on the region of Shenandoah which features unique factions, quests, and rewards. Rush's letter also includes an image of this new region which shows a red beam of light emanating from a cyclone in the sky hitting what appears to be a large building in the distance. The area has several hills, with some water towers and what may be another vault with the number 63 illuminating it. The sky may also threaten players in the region as multiple lightning bolts strike different parts of this area.

Unlike the Expeditions expansions, this one will focus on the West Virginian Appalachia already established by the base version of the game. Although the letter doesn't reveal much about the 2024 expansion, it shows that fans will continue to have new content to enjoy. Because there's no release date for the expansion, it's currently unclear how late in 2024 it will be released. Given that the teaser focuses on the end of the year, Rush also referenced seasonal content that will drop in early 2024. Fallout 76 Season 15 will occur between December and March, and it includes the Holiday Scorched event, Burning Love challenge, and more.

While many early Fallout 76 players may have felt scorned by the game, the ones that stuck with it are seemingly being rewarded. Bethesda's commitment to updating the game through 2024 shows that the game offers gamers more things to do as it evolves.
