Introduced in Fallout 76’s Nuclear Winter update, the Legendary Module is a crafting item for making Legendaries or re-rolling Legendary Effects. Players can use this unit to fuse weapons, armors, and Power Armors with 1- to 3-Star Legendary Effects or change their current perks.

In the recent Fallout 76 updates, the Legendary Modules are purchasable items at the Rusty Pick. And they also come as Expedition or Daily Op rewards. But no enemies will ever drop them—not even the Legendary ones.

To obtain Legendary Modules, the player will need to either purchase them from Purveyor Murmrgh, get them from Expeditions, or collect some on the Scoreboard. But note that the Expedition and Scoreboard don’t have guaranteed rewards; they may or may not contain Legendary Modules. Here are all methods for farming Legendary Modules.

Buy Legendary Modules at the Rusty Pick

The best way to get Legendary Modules is by buying them from Purveyor Murmrgh. Purveyor resides at the Rusty Pick and sells modules for 50 Scrips. But she offers only 100 Legendary Modules per server. (To purchase more, the player must server-hop.)

Complete the Pitt Expeditions

Expeditions are daily missions at the Pitt that reward the player with Legendary Modules. To participate in one, visit the Whitespring resort or join a friend’s Expedition. Although not guaranteed rewards, Legendary Modules and Cores are common Expedition drops.

Get Legendary Modules from the Scoreboard

Players may receive Legendary Modules on their Scoreboards. But Fallout 1st members are likelier to get them. Of course, Cores, Scrips, Modules, and other common prizes are mostly distributed to players ranked 100 or above.

Exchange Extra Legendaries for Modules

An alternative way of farming Legendary Modules is turning unused Legendary items into Scrips. For that, the player must scrap their weapons or Power Armor pieces with Legendary Effects at a Legendary Scrip Machine. This gives them 80 Scrips per 3-Star equipment, which can be used for buying Legendary Modules.

How to Use Legendary Modules

The player may use Legendary Modules for two purposes: Adding Legendary Effects to equipment or re-rolling their current effects. For that, they must have weapon and armor workbenches. But note that Legendary Modules are also required for crafting some Power Armor parts and mods.

The following table shows how many Legendary Modules are needed to add or re-roll Legendary Effects.
