There are lots of events that players can complete in Fallout 76. Some are triggered at random, others require a nuke to trigger, and then there are those that players can trigger almost at will. From Scorched Earth to Leader of The Pack, there are more than enough events to keep players busy.

One of the more challenging events is called Encryptid. This event is mainly done by high-level players. It requires skill and teamwork to complete. It's a great event for those who want to earn lots of XP quickly. It also has a decent reward pool which contains a couple of rare plans that players can earn for completing the event.

Complete A Series Of Quests

Sheepsquatch Poster in Fallout 76

Encryptid has been a part of Fallout 76 since the Wild Appalachia update. It's a boss battle event that sees players taking on an Imposter Sheepsquatch. This robot is incredibly tough, and it has deadly attacks that can take players down in mere seconds.

In order to be able to launch this event, you'll need to complete four quests. The quests are:

  • Lying Lowe
  • Baa Baa Black Sheep
  • The Lowe-Down
  • Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

The quests can all be started by reading the poster called Sheepsquatch Are My Brother. This poster can be found on the noticeboard of every train station. The quests are fairly straightforward. They can be completed within 20 minutes. For those who want some extra help, MrWestTek made a walkthrough video of all four quests.

After you have completed all the quests, you'll be prompted to start Encryptid. Starting this event requires an Assaultron Recall Keycard. The first time you do this event, you'll already have an Assaultron Recall Keycard from the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing quest.

But after that, you'll need a new Assaultron Recall Keycard. You can purchase Recall Keycard Circuit Boards from the vendor in The Whitespring Station. Then, take the Recall Keycard Circuit Board to any Tinker's Workbench and craft an Assaultron Recall Keycard. Crafting one costs:

  • 3 Copper
  • 1 Recall Keycard Circuit Board
  • 1 Rubber
  • 1 Stable Florescent Flux
  • 2 Steel.

Once you've crafted one, head to the Pylon Ambush Site and use the terminal inside the building to start the event. It's worth noting that there is a cooldown period of 3 hours on any given server. But if you hop to another server, you can do the event again, provided that nobody else has done it on the server recently.

Take On The Imposter Sheepsquatch

Starting Encryptid in Fallout 76

While it's not a particularly long event, it is a fairly difficult one. It's almost impossible to do this event alone. Thankfully, it's a pretty popular event, and more often than not, a handful of players will join you once you've activated it.

To complete the event, follow the steps below:

  1. Use an Assaultron Recall Keycard on the terminal
  2. Use the terminal and select Initiate Assaultron Recall
  3. Wait for 30 seconds for the Imposter Sheepsquatch to arrive
  4. Defend yourself for 30 seconds while the pylons acquire their target (during this period, the Sheepsquatch is invincible)
  5. Power up all 3 pylons by becoming a conduit (this will gradually deplete your health)
  6. Once all the pylons are powered, the Imposter Sheepsquatch will be vulnerable
  7. Kill the Imposter Sheepsquatch within 10 minutes to complete the event

While it is a tough event, as long as there are a few high-level players present, it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to complete it.
