Chems are a great tool for players to take advantage of in Fallout 76. There's a total of 39 chems that players can obtain in the game, but among these, players should begin knowing how to craft a small chunk of them. The recipes for these plans are something of a necessity for some Fallout 76 players who rely on them for their various effects.

After all, why bother purchasing them for high prices from other players or the robot vendors? Instead, they can just be made at a Chem Station. Keep in mind, some of the chems don't have recipes, and need to be found in the world.

Recipe: Antibiotics

Antibiotics are an important tool for players who tend to catch diseases. This lovely cure-all removes all the diseases a player has contracted and lowers their chance of catches diseases by 50%. The recipe for this important drug can be found through the following methods:

  • In mirrors across any region
  • Awarded for completing the Personal Matters and Earth Mover quests.
  • Awarded for completing daily quests in the Ash Heap.
  • Some vendors may sell them, including the MODUS Medical Terminals in Whitespring Bunker, and the Traders that have a random chance to spawn in a player's C.A.M.P.

Recipe: Berry Mentats

Berry Mentats are used to increase a player's intelligence by 5 and highlight enemies. As above, there are plenty of ways to find the recipe:

  • Found in mirrors across the entire map
  • May be awarded for completing the Personal Matter and Earth Mover quests, along with the Duchess's Stash miscellaneous quest.
  • Can also be awarded for completing daily quests in the Ash Heap.
  • Can also be bought at MODUS Medical Terminals and random encounter Traders at the C.A.M.P.

Recipe: Bufftats

Bufftats is what is created when players combine Mentats with Buffout. This powerful drug enhances a player's strength, perception, and endurance by 3 while also increasing their health by 40. Players can find the recipe for this drug in the following ways:

  • The recipe can, of course, be found in any mirror.
  • Can be awarded for completing the Novice of Mysteries quest, along with many of the Wastlanders DLC quests.
  • Players can purchase the recipe from MODUS Medical Terminals and Traders that appear in their C.A.M.P.

Recipe: Disease Cure (Various Regions)

There are multiple Disease Cure recipes that players can find throughout the game. Specifically, there is a Disease Cure recipe for the Ash Heap, Cranberry Bog, Savage Divide, The Mire, and Toxic Valley. The reason these are all included together is that they are all found in the same way.

Each of these recipes can be found by:

  • Searching mirrors in their respective locations.
  • Completing daily quests in their respective locations.

In other words, players who want the Ash Heap Disease Cure recipe will want to complete daily quests in the Ash Heap, and so on. Disease Cures, of course, cure one disease that a player has contracted.

Recipe: Formula P

Formula P is one of the drugs that was introduced after the game's release. It was released in the Wild Appalachia update and boosts a player's luck stat by 3, their charisma stat by 5, and increases their gun accuracy for 5 minutes.

The recipe for this drug can only be obtained by completing the Project Paradise event mission at the Arktos Pharma Biome Lab. The drop rate for this recipe is dependent on the outcome of the event. If one creature is alive, the drop chance is 16.67%. Two creatures alive increases the chance to 18.75%.

Recipe: Fury

Fury is an important drug to have on hand for players who love using melee weapons, as it increases a player's melee damage by 30% and their damage resistance by 25%. Be careful, because the drug also lowers perception by 5. The effect of this drug only lasts for 3 minutes. Players looking for the plans can find them in the following ways:

  • In any mirror across the map, with a low spawn chance
  • Can be awarded the plan from the Duchess's Stash miscellaneous quest
  • Can be awarded from daily quests in the Savage Divide

Recipe: Grape Mentats

Grape Mentats are great for players who like to barter and could use a few extra caps. This drug increases a player's charisma stat by 5 and gives them better bartering rates for a short time. Find the recipe recipe for this drug:

Recipe: Healing Salve (Various Regions)

Insect Repellent was added during the Wild Appalachia update. It reduces the damage a player receives from insects by 15% for 30 minutes.

The recipe for this chem can't be found in the world. Instead, this recipe is a guaranteed reward when a player completes the Stings and Things quest for the first time. This quest is found by initiating the questline for the Order of the Tadpole.

Recipe: Diluted Rad-X

Diluted Rad-X is a weaker form of the traditional drug that gives players 200 radiation resistance. The weaker form of the drug gives players only 100 radiation resistance. It cannot be found in the world; rather, the recipe for Dilted Rad-X is guaranteed to be given as a reward for completing the quest, An Ounce of Prevention.

It can be argued that Stimpaks are the most important chem in all of Fallout, because they heal the player whenever they need it. They are so important that they get their own dedicated button. The recipe for Stimpaks can be found:

Recipe: Stimpak Diffuser

Stimpak Diffusers were released a little while after the game was released in the Wild Appalachia DLC. This chem has the same effect as using a Stimpak, but it affects all nearby teammates as well as the player who used it.

Players have a chance to get the recipe for this chem by completing the Project Paradise event mission. It can only be rewarded if the player completes the mission with all 3 animals still alive.

Recipe: Super Stimpak

The other version of Stimpaks is the Super Stimpak. This chem is like normal Stimpaks on steroids, and will greatly heal a player. Here's how to get the recipe:

  • Players can purchase this recipe from MODUS Medical Terminals. It will only appear if players haven't already unlocked the recipe.
