What is the Elder's Mark in Fallout 76?

Inspecting the Elder's Mark automatic rifle weapon in Fallout 76,

The Elder's Mark is a modified automatic rifle with a custom skin featuring symbols and runes written in chalk. The gun gets its name from this custom skin created by the Cultists who use it to attack Luca Costa's caravan. This is where the Beasts of Burden public event starts when you start it. Additionally, it has a Curse effect that increases its fire rate and gives it higher damage, but it breaks faster than standard automatic rifles. This breakage is due to Bethesda lowering its overall maximum durability.

Here are the base stats for the Edler's Mark:

  • Class: Automatic Rifle
  • Level: 15/25/35/45
  • Damage: 18/22/25/29
  • Ammo: .45
  • Magazine Size: 50
  • Fire Rate: 100
  • Range: 72
  • Accuracy: 48

The Elder's Mark will drop as a quest reward with the following legendary mods by default:

  • Furious
  • Fast Fire
  • Fast Reload

In addition, you can re-roll the legendary effects on the Elder's Mark without removing its Cursed effect. Since the Cursed effect won't be removed, you can re-roll it as often as you want to find the perfect setup for those scenarios in Fallout 76, where a short-range gun works the best.
