There are lots of natural resources in Fallout 76. Some allow players to craft foods and drinks, while others allow players to make chems and healing items. One of those resources is glowing resin. This naturally growing sap grows on certain trees and is a pretty useful item to harvest.

There are those in Fallout who enjoy harvesting and making all their own chems, foods, and drinks. For those players, glowing resin is one of those materials that they will need to gather in large quantities from time to time. Glowing resin may also be required to complete challenges every now and again, so it's important to know where to find it.

Where To Find Glowing Resin

Trees And Wood Areas

Glowing Resin on A Tree in Fallout 76

Glowing resin has the potential to spawn in various places all over the map. Simply look around trees, and there's a chance to find some. That said, there are a few particular places that have a decent amount of glowing resin that can be harvested. The best places to harvest glowing resin can be seen below:

  • Southeast of Marigold Pavilion: 5 Glowing Resin
  • Next To A Copper Deposit Near Vault 96: 3 Glowing Resin
  • Behind A Cabin Just South of The Vantage: 3 Glowing Resin
  • Along The Railway Track Near Whitespring Station: ~5 Glowing Resin

There are plenty of other places that players can head to for glowing resin, but the ones listed above usually have the most.

Tips For Collecting & Using Glowing Resin

Make Glowing Resin Last Longer And Go Further

Green Thumb Perk in Fallout 76

To collect extra glowing resin, players should have the Green Thumb perk equipped. While it sounds like a strange perk, this perception-based perk allows players to pick up twice as much flora. So, instead of getting one glowing resin per tree, the player will harvest two.

One other thing that players can do while crafting with glowing resin is use the Super Duper perk. This perk gives players up to a 30% chance to make double the amount of whatever they are crafting. This works for most craftable consumables in the game.

Like most consumable items, the glowing resin has a condition bar. Once this bar is depleted, the glowing resin will spoil. To help prevent this from happening, players can use the Good With Salt perk to slow down the rate at which food items spoil. There is also a backpack mod called Grocer's Backpack that does the same as Good With Salt. Players can also build refrigerators and freezers at their camp to slow down the spoil rate of glowing resin.
