There are several special limited-time events that pop up in Fallout 76. One of those events is called Scrip Surplus. Scrip Surplus Weekends allows players to hand in 1000 Scrip daily instead of 500. Players turn in their unwanted legendary weapons and armor pieces at Legendary Vending Machines in exchange for Scrip.

Fallout 76's first map expansion update, Skyline Valley, offers some new enemies to take down on top of the new areas available to explore.

The Scrip can then be used to purchase Legendary Modules, Vault Steel, and legendary weapons and armor pieces from Murmrgh over at the Rusty Pick. Scrip Surplus weekends tend to happen at least once each season. These events run from Thursday to Sunday, and they are great for players who want to reduce the weight in their stash box by getting rid of some unwanted items.

Scrip Values

Different items are worth different amounts of Scrip. Weapons, armor, and Power Armor pieces all have different Scrip values. Knowing their values can help you maximize the amount of Scrip you hand in each day. The table below shows all the values of each type of legendary item. You can use the table below to work out how many items you'll need to reach the 1000 Scrip daily limit.

2-Star Weapon

It may be worth counting how much Scrip you have sitting in your stash box to see if you have enough to get the maximum amount of Scrip each day throughout the weekend. If not, it's worth grinding some events or doing a couple of expeditions to gather some extra Scrip items.

Save Your Legendary Items

Unwanted Legendary Weapon in Fallout 76

Selling unwanted legendary items in your CAMP Vendors is a great way to make some extra Caps. However, during Scrip Surplus Weekends, you'll want to have as many items to turn in as possible. During Scrip Surplus events, players can earn up to 4000 Scrip over the weekend.

After the first couple of days, many players tend to run out of weapons to hand in for Scrip. When this happens, prices for unwanted legendary items skyrocket. So, it's best to keep all of your legendary items in your stash box ready to be turned in for Scrip. Should you run out of legendary things, then you may end up paying an inflated price when buying legendary items.

That said, if you have an excess of legendary items towards the end of the weekend, then sell them in your CAMP Vendors, as they will sell pretty quickly. Just be sure to keep enough to hand in 1000 Scrip each day.

Roll Untradable Items

Untradable items can be annoying as they can't be sold to other players. That said, Scrip Surplus Weekends are great for getting rid of those unwanted, untradable, legendary items. You should prioritize getting rid of untradable items first, as the only other way to get rid of them is to destroy them.

Scrip Surplus Weekends are also a great time to roll untradable legendary items. Items like the Plasma Caster, Gauss Minigun, and Secret Service armor pieces are popular untradable items that players enjoy rolling and crafting in the hopes of getting perfect legendary effects. Since the daily Scrip limit is doubled, these weekends are ideal for rolling those untradable items. That way, you can discard all of the badly rolled items straight away instead of having them take up space in your stash box.

The Secret Service armor might be a hassle to earn in Fallout 76, but it's well worth the effort. Here's why players should use it.

For those who don't yet have the plans to craft items like Secret Service armor pieces and the Gauss Minigun, they can be purchased from Regs in Vault 79 for Gold Bullion. They can also be purchased from Minerva at a discounted price during her sale events.

Look For Specific Events

Eviction Notice Event Location in Fallout 76

For players who don't have many legendary items that they want to turn in for Scrip, there are a couple of events to keep an eye out for to earn lots of legendary items. The best event for farming legendary items is Eviction Notice. This event spawns endless waves of Super Mutants. If you destroy all of the meat bags early on during this event, then a large chunk of those Super Mutants will be legendary enemies.

It's worth noting that Eviction Notice is a high-level event. While it's always worth joining, lower-level players may find this event very challenging. Just be sure to bring good weapons, a decent armor set, and something to offset radiation. It's possible to get more than 20 legendary items during Eviction Notice. Other noteworthy events for farming legendary items are Neurological Warfare, Scorched Earth, Radiation Rumble, and any of the hoard events.

Events like Neurological Warfare and Scorched Earth are triggered by launching nukes over certain areas. So, it's possible to do these events as many times as you like, provided you have the resources to launch nukes. Events like Eviction Notice and Radiation Rumble are random public events. Every 20 minutes, a random public event will start. If the event isn't a good one, then switch servers in the hopes of finding a better one. Public events start on the hour, 20 minutes past the hour, and 20 minutes to the hour.

Use Mule Characters

A Player Waving in Fallout 76

Each account can have up to 5 different characters. Players who have lots of unwanted legendary items may benefit from transferring them from one character to another. Not only can you use other characters to hold all of your extra legendary items, but if you get your mule characters to level 50, then you can buy high-level legendary items from Murmrgh during her Mystery Pick weekends and her legendary sales.
