While there are no new rewards for Fallout 76's Holiday Scorched Event added this year, the existing rewards are still rare and valuable enough to be worth getting ahold of. Like other loot-hunting events in Fallout 76, the Holiday Gifts can be acquired from holiday-themed Scorched enemies, and components for crafting them can be purchased from NPC vendors. Unique to the Holiday Scorched event, the Holiday Gifts also periodically generate from the Santa Collectotron in players' camps and workshops. The rewards have a random chance to be obtained from Small, Medium, and Large Holiday Gifts, with increasing drop rates for rare items depending on the size of the gift.

The Holiday Scorched Event makes for the latest loot-hunting event since Fallout 76's Spooky Scorched Seasonal Event for Halloween. A good majority of the current events' rewards are tradable, meaning that both during and after the event's duration these rewards will make lucrative additions to players' vending machines. The rewards specific to the Holiday Scorched Event are spread across 3 categories: Holiday, Nuclear Winter, and Taxidermy.

Best Rewards From the Holiday Category

  • Communist Commander Outfit & Hat
  • Jaguar pantsuit Outfit
  • Tulip sky blue pantsuit Outfit
  • Vintage water cooler plan

Nearly all the rewards are cosmetics for the player or furnishings for camps created through Fallout 76's building feature, though one particular reward is extremely useful for generating resources inside player camps: The Vintage Water Cooler. This resource generator is the best option for producing water in camps or workshops. It needs no power to operate, automatically generates purified water without radiation, and can be placed indoors instead of on the solid ground. The outfit rewards, while not necessarily holiday-themed, provide an opportunity to express participation in the event. Otherwise, since outfits and plans are the lightest weighing items in the game, they make for some of the best options in a player's Fallout 76 vending machine.

Best Rewards From the Nuclear Winter Category

  • Blue Camo Power Armor Plan
  • .44 Blue Camo Paint Plan
  • Vault 51 Jumpsuit Plan

All three of the Nuclear Winter category's rewards listed above are worthwhile. The Holiday Scorched Event is the only way to currently earn these rewards from the Nuclear Winter mode for Fallout 76 since the game mode has been removed. After Nuclear Winter disappeared, the rewards specific to that content have been added to other activities and events, with the Holiday Scorched Event getting the three plans listed.

Important to note about the rewards from the Nuclear Winter category is that these can't be traded or sold to other players. Consequently, the plans will not be rewarded more than once, shrinking the loot pool of the Holiday Scorched Event. Weapon and power armor paints of any kind are a rare treat, with very few permanent sources in the game. Throughout the history of the series, Fallout's power armor has become a series icon, so having a personalized model in Fallout 76 is a must for some players.

Best Rewards From the Taxidermy Category

  • Mounted Gorilla Plan
  • Sitting Gorilla Plan
  • Standing Gorilla Plan
  • Mounted Scorchbeast Queen Plan
  • Deer skull Plan

The taxidermy category as a whole is the rarest of the rewards for the Holiday Scorched Event, though within this category certain rewards are rarer than the rest. The plans mentioned above are the rarest of the rare rewards from the current event. Beyond any personal interest in the plans, there is no doubt that these are valuable in the player market. The deer skull seems odd in appearance to the rest of the list, though the lack of non-mutated deer and gorillas in the game support this rarity. Experienced players would recognize the Mounted Scorchbeast Queen from the server-wide fight with this creature, one of the best events in Fallout 76.

Understanding the value and rarity of plans helps keep the player-to-player market in the know. Being familiar with the sources of exclusive rewards also helps players understand the generous community of players, with the ongoing habit of maxed-out players gifting helpful items to beginners continuing. Regardless of any involvement with other players or participation in the market, knowing where the rarest items in Fallout 76 come from benefits every player.

Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
