Chinese Stealth Armor Overview

  • DR: 140
  • ER: 140
  • RR: 1,000

The Chinese Stealth Armor is a light-reflecting camouflage suit, allowing its wearer to achieve invisibility while sneaking. Statistically, the jumpsuit has impressive defensive capabilities, featuring 140 Damage Resistance, 140 Energy Resistance, and 1,000 Radiation Resistance—the highest among all Armor sets. Furthermore, it offers a remarkable 98% reduction in Radiation Damage.

In terms of effects, the suit offers three distinct perks: reduced fall damage, protection against waterborne hazards, and effective camouflage.

To obtain the blueprint of the Chinese Stealth Armor, players must complete the Invisible Ties quest for the Settlers faction. Upon completion of this mission, players are rewarded with a pair of plans for the Helmet and Armor. Alternatively, the plans can be purchased for 5,650 Gold Bullion from Samuel, a vendor located at the Foundation.

How to Craft the Chinese Stealth Armor

To get the Chinese Stealth Armor, complete the Invisible Ties quest in Wastelanders and obtain the plans for the suit and helmet. Then, head to a nearby Armor Workbench and craft it with Ballistic Fiber, Circuitry, Fiber Optics, Nuclear Material, and Rubber.

The Invisible Ties is a quest in Settlers involving Jen and Paige. By completing its tasks—recruiting a scientist, retrieving the Liberator, and locating Agent Mochou—players receive two plans or blueprints for the Chinese Stealth Suit and Armor. They can then read these files in the Items menu to learn to craft the recipes.

A basic Chinese Stealth Armor at level 25 requires the following materials:

  • 25 Ballistic Fibers.
  • 16 Circuitries.
  • 12 Fiber Optics.
  • 7 Nuclear Materials.
  • 37 Rubbers.

The armor is available in 6 different levels, starting from 25 (the base model) and going up to 50 (the maxed-out model). But the key difference is the armor’s stats. The Maxed-Level version has a higher DMG/Radiation reduction and protects the player against stronger hazards—and, therefore, is pricier.

Since players can’t wear other bodysuits with the Chinese Stealth Armor, it’s best to combine it with the Sturdy Frame perk. It makes the protective shell lighter, increasing the movement speed.

How to Buy the Chinese Stealth Armor

To buy the blueprint of the Chinese Stealth Armor, finish all the missions in The Wastelander quest line, and increase the Reputation Rank to Neighborly. This will unlock Samuel, a vendor at Foundation who sells plans of the Chinese Stealth Suit and Helmet for 5,650 Gold Bullion. (4,000 for the suit, 1650 for the hat.)

The Chinese Stealth Suit is functional without the Helmet. In other words, it grants invisibility without the head covering. So, players can leave out the hat to cut back on the price.

Completing the Settlers' questline is not essential for obtaining the Chinese Stealth Armor. Players aligned with the Raiders can acquire the suit by achieving a "Neighborly" reputation (Rank Six) with the Settlers faction. This unlocks access to Samuel's inventory, where players can purchase the plans for the Helmet and Torso using Gold Bullion.

The Chinese Stealth Armor Vs. Secret Service Armor

In terms of radiation protection, the Chinese Stealth Armor surpasses the Secret Service Armor. Additionally, it offers the unique perk of invisibility, a feature absent in the Secret Service Armor. However, when it comes to physical damage resistance, the Secret Service Armor emerges as the superior choice. Moreover, it is one of only three Armor sets compatible with a jetpack modification, a feature not available with the Chinese Stealth Armor.

Best Perks for the Chinese Stealth Armor

Sturdy Frame reduces the Armor's weight by up to 50%, while Incision aids in removing 60% of the enemy's Armor, facilitating stealth kills. Tank Killer reduces enemy Armor by 40% when using a rifle, and White Knight significantly slows down the wear and tear of the Chinese Stealth Armor by 90%.
