The humble Brahmin once again makes an appearance in Fallout 76. These two-headed cows are a staple in the series, and they're often seen as farm animals or beasts of burden that help travelers carry their baggage. The ones in Appalachia are more or less the same as those in the other wastelands, though they may be a bit harder to come by.

Fallout 76's Still-Missing Feature is a Head-Scratcher

Fallout 76 has survived despite its early struggles, but there's one critical feature that the live-service title still lacks.

Some of the best consumables in Fallout 76 are made with simple ingredients, and that includes the ones you get from Brahmin. If you're looking to cook some classic Ribeye Steak or Appalachili for that extra shot of Luck, then Brahmin Meat's what you need. Here's where you can find these mutated animals.

Fallout 76 Brahmin Locations

Region

Description

Forest - Flatwoods

Behind the church.

Forest - Lewis & Sons

Near the red, broken houses.

Forest - Anchor Farm

Inside the animal pen.

Cranberry Bog - Big Bend Tunnel East

In front of the fast travel spawn point.

These four spots are the most reliable places to find Brahmin. They're relatively safe, and their close proximity to the fast travel spawn points themselves makes harvesting materials quick and easy. Take note that attacking some Brahmin may have consequences. For example, shooting any of the mutated cows in Wayward will cause Bessie, the resident Sentry Bot, to become hostile. As a rule of thumb, if a Brahmin is accompanied by a non-hostile NPC, you should refrain from attacking unless you're prepared to deal with what comes next.

The spawn spot in Flatwoods can have up to four Brahmin at a time, so prioritize checking the church over everything else. Flatwoods is directly south of Vault 76 — cross the river, and you'll arrive at the location relatively unscathed. We highly recommend taking Travel Agent, one of the best starting perks in Fallout 76 that reduces fast travel costs by 30%.

Why Fallout 76's Season 16 Scoreboard Changes Are Controversial

Changes to Fallout 76’s Scoreboards were always going to be controversial, but fans are particularly concerned about changes coming in Season 16.

Anchor Farm has two Brahmin inside the animal pen in front of the main house. However, attacking them may sour your relations with the family residing within the farm. Instead of shooting, you can try getting milk from them instead. This way, you still get value from the Brahmin without causing any harm to anybody.

Big Bend Tunnel East has up to three Brahmin right in front of the fast travel spot, making it a popular choice among players who need meat, milk, hide, or quest progression. With that said, this spot may not always be reliable as other players on the server might have gotten to the Brahmin first. If the cows are dead, come back in 15–30 minutes. While buying meat from Fallout 76's vendors isn't recommended, it's still an option when you're truly out of choices.

The Lewis & Sons spot has only one Brahmin, but since this place is so out of the way, you'll likely have a better chance of finding a Brahmin here. Look for the pen near the broken barns, and you should see a wild Brahmin grazing on grass.
