The Skyline Valley update brought new quests, weapons, enemies, and events to Fallout 76. One of those events is called Dangerous Pastimes. This public event requires players to fix the central structure or a faulty substation. This event is split up into four main stages and can be completed relatively quickly.

Fallout 76's Skyline Valley update brought with it several changes that players may not have been expecting.

However, it can be quite challenging for lower-level players. That said, when the event pops up, lots of players tend to join the event, so there's usually plenty of help available for newer players. Dangerous Pastimes also has a whole host of new and exciting rewards and plans that players can earn for completing the event.

How To Complete Dangerous Pastimes

Repair The Lightning Harvester

Harvester Parts in Fallout 76

This event can usually be completed fairly quickly without too much difficulty. However, it is a timed event, so players will need to work quickly in order to complete it. It's a random public event that can't be triggered by the player. Every 20 minutes, there's a chance for it to trigger on any given server.

As mentioned above, the event itself is split into four main steps. See the guide below for details:

  • Use The Intercom To Speak To David Shuffleworth At Thunder Mountain Substation TM-03 (2 Minute Time Limit)
  • Gather A Total of 40 Harvester Parts And Hand Them in At The Central Console To Repair The Lightning Harvester (4 Minute Time Limit)
  • Kill Waves of Lost While The Lightning Harvester Powers Up. Killing Electrically Charged Lost Enemies Will Help To Charge The Lightning Harvester (7 Minutes 30 Seconds Time Limit)
  • Kill A 3-Star Legendary Thunder Crab (3 Minute Time Limit)

The event itself is fairly straightforward. The most challenging thing about the event is completing each objective within the allotted time limits, especially if there are only a couple of players participating in the event.
