Reaching max level in Fallout 76 is a bit of a process. Here's everything you need to know in order to do it.

Newer players may find it difficult to know what to do when doing a Daily Operation for the first time. While there is a lot going on during a Daily Op, it is fairly simple once you know the basics. Doing Daily Ops is great for earning XP, legendary items, and unique plans. So, it is something that players should play regularly.

How To Start A Daily Operation In Fallout 76

Start It With Just A Few Clicks

Decryption Daily Op Menu in Fallout 76

Starting a Daily Operation is easy. All you need to do is open up the map and open the World Activity table on the bottom left side of the screen. From here, just hit select and then join. This will take you into a Daily Operation.

Before heading into a Daily Op, it's important that you have plenty of ammo and your weapons and armor pieces are all in good condition. Also, join or start a public Daily Ops team. Daily Ops can be very hard to complete alone, especially during double mutation weekends. So, joining a team and doing it with other players is usually the best way to go.

Enemies And Mutations In Fallout 76 Daily Ops

There Are A Lot Of Options

A Ghoul Attack in Fallout 76

There are a total of 8 enemy types that can be a part of a Daily Operation. Only one enemy type will be present on any given day, and the enemy type will change from day to day.

Some enemies are harder to kill than others. So, sometimes you may find it fairly easy to complete a particular day's operation, while other times you may find it almost impossible.

All the different enemy types that can be a part of Daily Ops can be seen below:

  • Aliens
  • Blood Eagles
  • Communists
  • Mothman Cultists
  • Mole Miners
  • Robots
  • Scorched
  • Super Mutants

The key thing that determines how difficult a Daily Op will be is the mutation. The enemies will have one mutation (two on double mutation weekends). Each mutation gives the enemy a boost or benefit that makes them harder to kill, so bring a good weapon. Here are all the possible mutations that enemies can have during a Daily Operation:

Mutation

Effect

Volatile

Enemies Explode Upon Death

Active Camouflage

Enemies Are Clocked When Not Attacking

Resilient

Enemies Can Only Be Killed By A Melee Attack

Freezing Touch

Enemies Slow Down Players If Damaged in Succession

Group Regeneration

Enemies Heal Nearby Enemies

Reflective Skin

Enemies Periodically Reflect Back Damage Dealt To Them

Swift-Footed

Enemies Have Increased Movement Speed

Toxic Blood

Enemies Create A Toxic Cloud When Killed

Danger Cloud

Enemies Periodically Release Spores That Drain and Reduce The AP of Nearby Players

There are two mutations that weren't mentioned in the table above. That's because they are default mutations.

If the Daily Operation is called Uplink, then all enemies will have the Piercing Gaze mutation by default. This greatly enhances the perception of enemies, making it so players can't hide.

If the Daily Operation is called Decryption, then all enemies will have the Savage Strike mutation. This mutation allows enemies to ignore most of the player's armor resistances.

Best Rewards In Fallout 76 Daily Ops

Rare Plans, Caps, Scrip, And More

Completing A Daily Operation in Fallout 76

There are three tiers for rewards in Daily Ops. Daily Ops are timed missions. The faster you complete them, the better the rewards. The tiers are as follows:

  • Initiate: Under 16 Minutes
  • Paladin: Under 12 Minutes
  • Elder: Under 8 Minutes

Provided that you do a Daily Operation on a team, it is unlikely that the mission will take longer than 8 minutes.

With a team of high-level players, it's possible to complete a Daily Operation in as little as 4 minutes.

Rewards are randomized, but each day, if the player completes the Daily Op within 8 minutes, then they will receive a rare reward. There are lots of rare rewards that you can get for completing a Daily Operation. Some of the most highly sought-after ones can be seen below:

  • Plan: Deep-Space Alien Power Armor Skins (Total of 5 Individual Plans To Earn)
  • Plan: Alien Backpack
  • Plan: Covert Scout Armor Pieces (Total of 6 Individual Plans To Earn)
  • Plan: Arctic Marine Armor (Total of 6 Individual Plans To Earn)
  • Plan: X-01 Scorched Paint
  • Plan: Brotherhood Recon Armor (Total of 6 Individual Plans To Earn)
  • Plan: Sympto-Matic
  • Plan: Super Reactor
  • Plan: Ghoul Chair
  • Plan: Brahmin Couch
  • Plan: Intergalactic Handmade Skin

It's important to note that players can only receive one rare plan each day. For completing the Daily Op in less than 8 minutes, players are guaranteed one of the rare plans.

While it is possible to get one of the rare plans for completing a Daily Operation in over 8 minutes, the chances are dramatically reduced.

Players will also receive a couple of legendary items, lots of XP, some ammo, and more. It is also possible to get things like Treasury Notes and Scrip, but there's no guarantee. It just comes down to luck. But the faster you complete the challenge, the higher the chance of getting better rewards.

Fallout 76 has a lot of seasonal activities for players to take part in, but these are the best ones!

Requires Lots Of Teamwork

Uplink Daily Op Menu in Fallout 76

Out of the two different types of Daily Operation missions, Uplink is the most time-consuming. The more players on the team, the faster this mission can be completed, as it requires players to stand in certain areas for a short period of time to boost a signal. The more players standing in said areas, the faster the signal is boosted.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to complete the Uplink Daily Operation:

  • Join the Daily Operation
  • Wait for teammates (the timer doesn't start until you start heading to the first location)
  • Fix the Signal Repeater
  • Head to Site Alpha (or Bravo; the order doesn't matter)
  • Interact with the Signal Booster to start it
  • Stay close to the Signal Booster to increase its progression speed (speed increases for every player within proximity)
  • Fend off enemies while the signal is being boosted
  • Once done, head to the other signal location (Bravo or Alpha, depending on the one you did first)
  • Boost the second signal
  • Once boosted, a group of enemies will spawn in — kill them
  • This will summon a leader — kill the leader

How To Complete Decryption In Fallout 76

Can Typically Be Done Pretty Quickly

Starting A Daily Op in West Tek

Decryption usually doesn't take as long as Uplink. For this mission, players need to kill enemies and a few minor boss enemies before tackling the end boss. Here's a breakdown:

  • Join the Daily Operation
  • Wait for teammates
  • Hunt down and kill a total of 8 enemies
  • Eliminate a Code Carrier (slightly harder to kill than regular enemies)
  • Disable one of the Radio Interceptors (the order isn't important)
  • Hunt down and kill a total of 10 enemies
  • Eliminate another Code Carrier
  • Disable one of the Radio Interceptors
  • Hunt down and kill a total of 12 enemies
  • Take down the leader
  • Disable the final interceptor
